Overtime Sports Bar and Grill — Restaurant in Bowling Green

I don’t ever leave reviews, but after our experience tonight I just felt the need to. We had heard overtime had gone downhill since it first opened. The first couple of years of being business, it was one of our favorite places to go. Over the past year or so, we haven’t heard from anyone that didn’t have a bad experience. We were in the area and decided to try it out again for ourselves. The food was alright; took forever to come out. Pickles were good. I don’t usually talk about the staff since at least they are working, but it just couldn’t be overlooked and overall the reason we won’t be back. Our waitress we swear was high. She had us repeat our orders multiple times while even writing it down. When we finally did get our food, it was wrong. We asked for two HOUSE salads which $4.59 a piece. Instead she brought us two clubhouse salads. Big difference in size and of course price. When my husband asked if these were house salads and she said no, we told her we ordered house salads. She said oh sorry, but not once asked if we wanted the right thing we ordered or could have at least say she would take care of the ticket and make sure we weren’t charged for something we didn’t order in the first place. Nope. My husband went 10 minutes without being asked for a refill since she didn’t come back to the table for that long. Then when the food came out, she asked if there was anything else she could get us, he asked for his beer. Which she then turned and walked to the bar and grabbed. It had been sitting there for god knows how long and she didn’t even remember. The staff behind the bar were so loud and unprofessional. Pretty sure they were drinking. When it came time for the ticket, of course the total was crazy higher than I expected since I had hoped she would figure out to fix our salads but again nope. I handed her my debit card and our bill to which she responded, do you want a receipt? I thought I had heard her wrong. So I said excuse me? Then she asked again if I was good or did I want receipt? I said well I need my card back after you swipe it and then I’ll need a copy to sign for the tip. I’ve seriously never been so blown away in all my life with that kind of service. At this point, we kind of felt bad for her, but still couldn’t overlook everything that happened over the course of the whole time we were there. As I’m figuring up the total and trying to teach my daughter how to tip, our waitress kept coming back to the table and finally just stood there. She was waiting for the receipt (I’m sure to see how much I had tipped her), which is beyond rude to just stand there and wait to grab it out of my hand as soon as I’ve signed my name. Overall horrible experience. The place was pretty much empty and I see why now. Unless things go back to the way they were when they first opened, this place won’t last much longer...

Mattea the bartender was excellent. Didn't make me wait, and placed my order right away. I ordered pretzel bites and blackened fish taco's. I think the pretzel bites were deep fried, and Emily had normal salt on it. It didn't have sea salt or kosher salt (big salt chunks)? They weren't bad, just okay at best. The fish tacos came out as chicken tacos, which were promptly taken back and remade to be fish tacos. When the fish tacos were delivered by the lady the orange dress I'm assuming to be the manager, owner co-owner whatever... Before placing the plate down asked me if this was enough???? I was confused. I just looked at her and she placed the food down and said is that good enough? Still confused. Mattea, the bartender, again was great and took good care of me. Thank you! Turns out that the order was put in as chicken tacos instead of fish tacos by mistake. They also put the original cold french fries off the first plate onto the second plate that was served to me. Ugh Whoever that person was should not have taken it out on the customer. I won't be running back anytime soon, but I will give it another chance. Everyone has bad days. We have gone here quite a few times with big group of people from work. Last night was the worst experience ever from this establishment! Every time we go we ask for double Jack and cokes and the bartender pours a glass of Jack and a splash of coke. Last night was no different and when the manager came over because a few people skipped out on their bills, those of us who were still there paid off those bills that totalled over $100 ,plus we tipped the servers extremely well. We made right of the wrong but at the end of the night we were made to feel like crap. Poor management skills had the server bring back the total skipped out bill AGAIN and tried to get us to pay it AGAIN!?!?! We were permanently removed from the restuarant because the manager would not listen to why I had him come over to us. The server who we all made sure was well taken care of, made out like a bandit acted like a little snot. The only server that I like there is the one with the cute pixie hair, she is the only who knew anything.
