I couldn’t understand how this place could have anything less than a 5 star rating. It made me question if other establishments were trying to hurt their score, or people who just don’t know anything about allergen free baking… I drive 5 hours round trip to enjoy goods from Joey’s. The staff are all very friendly and everything is clean and professionally presented. āļøāļøāļøāļøāļø I see clients on the east coast and any time I am on that side I will go out of my way to go to this bakery. Their breads… the berry layer cake is my fav… biscotti… literally… all of it is SO good. The cake slices are not overly sweet and I appreciate that. The biscotti is actually sweeter than the (cup)cakes in my opinion, but man are they good with a cup of tea or coffee… I actually flew with the biscotti so I could enjoy while out of town, it was a nice ā€œhome away from home,ā€ treat. I have been gluten free since 2011 and was over the moon the first day I tried their items after a quick google search while in the area. I bring a cooler with me when I go so I can stock up to slice (the bread loaves) and freeze when I get home. The challah… bagels… sun dried tomato sourdough…cannoli… literally all of it, SO GOOD! One thing I would absolutely love to try from them is tiramisu. That was my fav desert before going gluten & dairy free. I can’t say enough good things about this bakery. I wish they had a second location on the gulf side. šŸ˜… But it is totally worth the trek. Thank you for being dedicated to providing food clearly made with love and intention. šŸ™šŸ¤

it is very hard to find gluten-free Paleo vegan type stuff on a large scale and frequently, not even on a small scale. This was a lovely little bakery, with a very large variety of items. The staff is lovely and helpful. I tried a few items just because it's something that's so hard to find. The carrot cake with the coconut cream frosting stuff on top was awesome, totally awesome. The cookie was nice and gluten-free scones are just a little difficult because they're never going to taste like a regular scone. The gentleman said to serve it, warm and try with like some jelly or butter or some thing on it which I have not done yet. He was very kind and the answer the number questions for me which I greatly appreciated and overall it was a pretty lovely experience. I think this particular scone is also sugar-free if I remember correctly if you have some sensitivities they are very helpful. he also gave me a sample of their gluten-free French bread. It might've actually have been gluten free sourdough French bread. It was very good.

First time traveling since I was diagnosed with celiacs (just a few weeks ago) so I didn’t realize the food concerns I now have when booking this trip - all I can say is, I feel as though I hit the jackpot as far as certified gf bakery ā¤ļø Once inside your immersed with large glass front cases filled with moist breads, cupcakes, pie dough and cookies! It was all I could do not to order literally 1 of everything! I ended up ordering a choc choc chip cookie, an almond flour raspberry Petite Foir (these are also DF) and a blueberry muffin (also DF). I cannot say enough about the amazing texture & quality and flavor of everything. The BEST part 😃 they ship ā€œall over the countryā€ 🤩! (I know what will now be added to my Xmas list) Give yourself an amazing treat and order from this bakery today - you deserve this!

Ordered a birthday cake for our daughter on Friday who drove down from Orlando to celebrate. The cake looked pretty so we were excited to eat it. WOW, the WORST tasting cake we have ever tried. No one could eat their slice and the 65.00 cake went into the trash. So disappointed and embarrassed! Ruined this part of her special day! Will never go to Joey's again nor will I recommend to anyone.

I wanted to reply to the comment below. My daughter in law has had many gluten free cakes so we weren't even judging the taste of the cake and icing because we didn't know what to expect. However, she did and stated it was probably the worst tasting cake she had ever tried. I was trying to be polite in the first review. It wasn't only that it wasn't sweet, it was the texture and taste. I'm not sure what your chef tasted but it was awful. I also had to remove one of the Strawberries because it had mold on it. When I phoned you, I didn't get anything from you other than I should have called the same day and you would have made another cake or gave a refund. It's kind of hard to call the same day of your daughters birthday to swap out a cake. I'm not trying to beat this to death, but wanted to clear that up with what your comments were. You should have given us a full refund and made this right. You could of even given us a discount or credit for a future item, but didn't. Just not how a professional establishment should handle...

I'm giving this place one star because they didn’t follow the directions for my order. I ordered 10 cupcakes that were supposed to be vanilla, with half of them being chocolate. Instead, they were all chocolate. The vanilla cupcakes were supposed to have a star on them, and the chocolate ones were supposed to have strawberries, which she wrote down. I don’t even care about the vanilla cupcakes not having stars since there were none at all.

It doesn’t matter anymore because they turned out to be good, but at the end of the day, it was for my daughter’s second birthday. She has a severe egg allergy, and it’s tough to find a vegan place, so this was my first time trying this bakery. I especially planned to pick them up on a certain day.

When I looked at the cupcakes, they looked good but were covered with brown wrapping, making it hard to tell if any vanilla ones were there. When we celebrated her birthday, we realized they were all chocolate. The birthday girl liked the frosting, so I assume it was delicious, and that’s what matters most to me.

The place was clean and nice, but the order was still messed up even though she wrote it down. That’s why I’m giving it one star. I spent around $50 on 10 cupcakes, which isn’t cheap. I always try to do something special for my kid, so if I decide to come back and order again, I’ll just double-check to make sure...
