Jupiter Donuts Boynton — Restaurant in Boynton Beach

Today I went to Jupiter Donuts to treat my family for Halloween. I was shocked by the horrible customer service and won't go back. Just to let you know, I don't make a lot, so spending $2.00 on a donut is a lot! But I wanted to do something special for my ninos, so I bought a dozen donuts and tried to prepay for the order. The female staff member took my order, but said I could not pay by phone because she was too busy. So I went to pick up my order. The same lady - an older woman with blond hair - told me that I could not pick up my order from the prepay line because I had not paid. Ok, no problemo. I waited 25 minutes in the regular line. Still, I was excited to bring my ninos some fresh donuts. But then the same lady was very upset at me because I did not leave a tip. She stared at the screen while I did my payment. She shouted very loudly and many times for others to hear, "Really? Are you serious? I don't understand rude people." Well, I don't understand her either. Was she rude for not letting me prepay? Was she rude for making me wait in line an extra 20 minutes even though I preorder? Was she rude for staring over my shoulder while I paid? Was she rude to try to make me look cheap when I am spending $2.00 per donut. Maybe this lady likes to bullying people to get her way. And maybe Jupiter doesn't care. But it made me sad that I bought donuts from a store that allows their staff to bully average people because they don't make a lot of money. If you give good service, I will tip you. But please don't try to bully me. No donut is...

Cashier: (won’t look at me when I walk up the cash register)

Me: how are?

Cashier: I’m good.

(Awkward pause)

Me: what do you sell a lot of here? It’s our first time coming here.

Cashier: sir, we sell a lot of everything.

Me: ok… we’ll for sure I’d like a chocolate old fashioned.

Cashier: sigh, how many donuts total do you want. I need to know if I should use a box or bag. I don’t want to use multiple bags. I can get six in a bag.

Me: ok, I’ll keep it under six for you.

Cashier: I may have to charge you more per donut if you don’t get six.

Me: I think I can handle it.

Cashier: (walking away to get a water bottle) if you don’t know what you want, I can come back later.

Me: we’ll, I would like a chocolate old fashion

Cashier: you tell me what you want while I’m walking to get a drink?

Me: actually, I think I’ll pass. I would have sent a private note to management about this (I know everyone has bad days) but I couldn’t find an email address.

The cashier was kind to the previous patron, complimenting one of her accessories. I’m not sure why I was treated differently.

I am a person of color and it’s sometimes hard not to assume that is the cause for being treated differently. If there was something I did that prompted the cashier to treat me this way, I would love to know- if only for my sanity.

First and foremost let me start by saying I will never visit this location again! This happened this morning around 9:40am Sunday sep/23/2018 after one of the 2 young ladies in the front took my orde. I ordered 2 breakfast sandwiches, 3 donuts, and a small ice coffee. I made my coffee and I was patiently waiting for about 10mins for my sandwiches to come out. The girl that took my order noticed something was wrong when she looked at me and realized she forgot to put my order in. Meanwhile the other girl in the back that makes our breakfast sandwiches is now cleaning and sweeping! While business is out the door. The girl that took my ordered runs to the back and tells her coworker to make my sandwiches quicky as I have been waiting. (Now this is why I will never come back) are you ready!????
