I recently dined at Metro Diner in Bradenton and wanted to share my experience:
Atmosphere: Metro Diner has a cozy and welcoming atmosphere. It's frequented by a friendly older crowd, which adds to the comfortable vibes.
Drinks: Their orange juice was fantastic! 🤩
Service: Our server, Veronica, provided decent service, though it could have been more attentive. Unfortunately, my drink wasn't refilled, and I wasn't asked if I wanted another.
Food:
Huevos Rancheros: Metro Diner's Huevos Rancheros is a unique twist on the classic dish. It's served on fried sun-dried tomato tortilla shells with bacon, sausage, and various ingredients, topped with cheese, sour cream, salsa, jalapeños, and green onions. While tasty, it differs significantly from the traditional Huevos Rancheros without the soft corn tortillas and chorizo. Biscuit and Gravy: The biscuit and gravy were disappointing. The biscuit was tough and hard to cut. Southwest Bowl: My partner enjoyed the Southwest Bowl, finding it quite good. Iced Coffee: The iced coffee was overly sweet, like drinking straight sugar. Resolution: On a positive note, they promptly removed the nacho platter from the check when we weren't satisfied. That was a thoughtful gesture.
In summary, Metro Diner offers a unique take on Huevos Rancheros and has a cozy atmosphere. While there were some enjoyable dishes, there were also some deviations from the traditional versions of the dishes. It's important for restaurants to accurately represent their dishes on the menu. With slight improvements in service and consistency in food quality, it could become a more satisfying dining...
Read moreVisiting Bradenton and decided to try this place. Leslie was our server and very attentive to our every need. It was a bit quiet so she (Leslie) got our coffee and then sat down with us to elaborate on the extensive menu and take our orders. She answered all of my questions...I have alot of them when I order out. She never missed a beat! Not to be overlooked every employee I saw...when I review a place I try to interact with as many as possible...I was not let down, everyone working at this establishment was friendly, happy and smiling. Service is an "A+"... now the meal... The food was excellent! I got the Meat Lovers omelette and I can truthfully say it should have been called a stuffed omelette...absolutely packed with all the breakfast meats and cheese plus I added jalapenos...hot and perfect! The breakfast potatoes were well seasoned and crispy on the outside...yum! Now to the Grilled English muffin...one of the items I always look for and I am almost always disappointed with what I am served. Not this time...buttered, weight flattened and grilled to perfection...just look at the pic. That is the careful attention to detail your meal will get. The others in our party had strong accolades as well: Corned Beef in the hash was REAL and the Breakfast pie is something that should NOT to be missed! I was pleasantly surprised to find out the Metro Diner is a national chain...can't wait to try other locations that I encounter during my extensive work travels. Give this place a try..."A+" overall in my...
Read moreAbsolutely AMAZING! We stopped in here on a whim and we are so happy we did! The place was packed at 6:15pm on a Saturday but we only waited about 10 minutes for a table to be cleared. I tried chicken and waffles for the first time and requested tenders instead of the half chicken. When Lekeisha came to the table to prepare the sweet and spice sauce I was skeptical (syrup mixed with hot sauce). I thought it was for the waffle but she quickly explained it was for the chicken and suggested I give it a try if I like spicy food. I am so glad I did… It was fantastic! The chicken came out piping hot and crunchy. The sauce went so well with the chicken. My mouth is watering thinking about it. The waffle came with strawberry butter which I also wasn’t sure about but it was another delicious pairing. I really cannot express how delightful this meal was. It was also very generously portioned. I was stuffed and only ate half. My husband ate the mushroom Swiss burger and said it was very good (high praise from him). The bacon was crunchy and the lettuce was crisp. The entire burger was savory and delicious. The staff were extremely courteous. Lekeisha had worked a 12+ hour shift and was still very pleasant and had good energy. The cook in the open view kitchen area was also very nice and interacted well with his device team. The entire experience was enjoyable and we will be back to try more menu items. I highly recommend this restaurant if you want enjoy delicious food and...
