Update: Customer Service is very important!!! Called up management and they told me they fired the girl who just dumps baked goods in boxes and does not care. These were pastries I had to bring to work. They told me she has been rebellious with many customers. I bet she gets fired from other retail jobs with her customer service rebellious skills. I think she should seek a therapist and medication. Management did the best thing they could do for their stores reputation! Plus that girl got this other customer upset, and that customer started screaming in front of her child because she wanted her baked goods. Hope she does not scream like that in front of her son like that at home, what a HORRIBLE MOTHER! Not to mention all the sweets she was going to feed him. That woman did not know what was going on, she needed to mind her own business at that time and not scream like that in front of her child. She actually looked like she was wired and a instigator, who infringes on peoples rights. Guess she has no concept of good customer service and likes when workers dump her pastries like garbage in box! Awful presentation. What happened was the Girl behind the counter was rude and nasty! It actually took my baked goods that I paid for and angrily dumped them into a box, just because I wanted them all in one box. All the pastries were dumped on top of each other and it looked horrible. I had to actually fix it right there in front of her. I am the customer and paid for the items, I should get them how I want! This never happened to me and I have been there plenty of times, all the girls were sweet, nice and very helpful. These are when they need to fire people they just hired off the streets and out of desperation. That employee Is a bad asset to this bakery. I will never go in that place ever again. Update: I just heard they fired the girl and I will be going back again. Glad I did complain, because this person would do the same thing to others customers and plus she thinks what she did was ok. Management told me I can come back anytime I like and if there was anything more they could do for me. Once again great customer service is very...
Read moreWhat I asked for versus what I received. The pictures say it all. I called weeks ahead of time and sent photos to the head baker or owner who agreed that they would have no problem reproducing the cake in the first photo. Either this person is completely unaware of their mediocre skill set or just has no idea how to use fondant or advanced baking techniques. I was alright with a buttercream base but expected a clean finish. Clearly, it was a total mess and full of air pockets. The colored dots looked sloppy, cracked, and smashed in with fingerprints and terrible indents in the center. I also did not agree to the horrible icing and piping job for the number and name sign that were supposed to be in fondant for a crisp finish. I confirmed multiple times over the phone that the number and name sign should be done in fondant. I would also think that they would put a little effort into the colored dots being different sizes to add character like the first picture instead of a sloppy same size cutout for each one. When I arrived just before the birthday party they expected to charge me $130 for that monstrosity. After relaying my disappointment the owner did not even have the courtesy to come out and discuss the issues but used the counter cashier as an intermediary. After several broken communication attempts back and forth, he then offered 10 dollars off and to redo the letters in 15 minutes. Why were they not done correctly in the first place if he could supposedly fix them in fondant in 15 minutes!? Why would I agree to a rush job right before my son’s birthday party only to have the cake potentially look even worse!? This place just wanted to make a quick buck at the expense of a child’s birthday cake that was supposed to offer a nice picture with good memories. Had they been honest about their baking ability, or informed me the cake would look very different, then I would have gone elsewhere! I trusted the reputation and reviews but was sorely mistaken. Not only was the cake abysmal esthetically, the flavor was terrible and the cake itself was dry and disgusting. Avoid this bakery for custom cakes at all costs. They deserve a zero...
Read moreI wish there was a "disappointed " star. I ordered a half sheet Black Forest cake: chocolate cake with cherry filling and whipped cream. Cherries decoration around top of cake cost extra, so, after tax, cake cost around $95.00. My disappointment concerned the confusion / inconvenience about what was supposed to be written. I had called the bakery early in the week and ordered "Congratulations on your engagement Di and Max". I called back shortly after to change it to "Di and Max Congratulations on your engagement". Friday night I called to confirm the cake to be ready by 11:30 am Saturday for my daughter to pick up and gave my credit card information to pay for the cake and confirm "Di and Max congratulations on your engagement". So, I stopped by the bakery after 11:00 to see the cake. It wasn't ready yet. When I got to see it the cake said "Congratulations Di and Max". That was very disappointing, but I wanted it corrected before my daughter got there to pick it up. I left so I could get on to the party venue where I needed to start decorating. My daughter picked up the cake and gave it to a staff member to put it in a refrigerator. A half hour before the time to eat the cake, I was escorted downstairs to see the cake. It read, "Congratutations on your engagement Di and Max". The "i" was crossed to become a "t". And it looked like there were 2 dots over the "i". I went outside to call the bakery and told them that they needed to come to the venue to make corrections. The decorator said that she had some things to finish up, but she did arrive prepared to fix the cake. I accepted starting the message with "Congratutations..." instead of "Di and Max", because I wanted to save time and it could have wrecked the cake's appearance. She made the necessary corrections, but I lost time with my guests and felt the bakery dropped the ball...
