The food is good. I've been here twice so far. It's a little small and the last time we were there they were having a private party in the restaurant. So it was very crowded. They are kid friendly, but I dont recommend taking children under the age of 4. It's too crowded and they don't have a changing table in the bathroom which was difficult when I had to change my daughter. I got the chicken saltimboca, which I thought was very good. My fiance got the special which was vinegar peppers pork chop. The pork was undercooked and they give you 2 slices of peppers. They would have cooked it more but it was so busy he didn't ask so he didn't eat it. If he had sent it back to be cooked more he would have enjoyed it. The waitress was so nice! They have a lot of patience! This place is perfect for a couple or a group of adults but I would leave the little ones at home (with a babysitter, obviously). The only downside is the parking. They do have a very small lot but again, when they're busy, it's hard to find parking. Even...
Read moreWe returned to Campanale's after many years. It had been completely refurbished, the bar was active, and the food was still good. They specialize in Italian food, although there are some standard beef and fish dishes too. I had the homemade lasagna and my husband chose the spaghetti and meatballs. The sauce was the chef's own recipe, and delicious. We each had a basic side salad beforehand. We were impressed by its freshness and size for the $4 price. The lasagna was $20, but the serving was large, and I took half of it home. The spaghetti and two large meatballs was $14. My husband ate it all! We did not order dessert because we were full, but the the rich looking samples in the glass case looked tempting. Another time! Our waitress was the chef's niece, and very attentive, as well as filling us in on the changes to the neighborhood. It's always nice to revisit favorite haunts after you've moved. And fun to make new ones if you haven't been there before. Try Campanale's in Braintree, and take home some extra...
Read moreMay 2024 - lunch Atmosphere- we got there around 1:30pm. We were their first customers of the day, to my surprise being that they open at 11:30am. Seems the restaurant is not quite visited much or at least on this day it wasn't. We picked a table by the window which was nice. By the time we left, only two other tables were taken with parties of two. We basically had the entire restaurant to ourselves.
Service- The service was ok. Started off strong at first but once meals came out the service went a little down as we weren't checked on much for drinks, etc. However not bad overall, just not great either.
Food- we.got the seafood fra diavolo, lobster bake, seafood risotto. We thought the food was just ok as we had better elsewhere.
Cocktails- we enjoyed the Cocktails. They tasted good but presentation wasn't the greatest. They came out in glasses you get served water or soda in, not Cocktails.
Overall we had a nice time but it is a place we probably won't visit again. High expectations that...
