🌟 ZERO STARS — IF I COULD GIVE NEGATIVE STARS, I WOULD 🌟
Dining at Spazio’s Restaurant was, without a doubt, one of the most horrendous experiences of my life. I don’t say that lightly — I’ve eaten gas station sushi before, and somehow that was better.
Let’s start with the service. Or rather, the complete and utter lack of it. Our server acted like we were an inconvenience from the moment we walked in. They didn’t smile once, got our order wrong twice, and disappeared for 40 minutes — probably to escape the chaos happening in the kitchen, which I can only assume was run by blindfolded raccoons based on the “food” we were served.
Speaking of food: inedible. I ordered what they claimed was “house-made lasagna.” What arrived was a lukewarm, watery mess that looked like it had lost a fight with a microwave. The sauce tasted like it came from a can labeled Regret, and the noodles were somehow simultaneously soggy and crunchy — a culinary paradox I never want to experience again.
My companion ordered the steak. Big mistake. It came out gray, rubbery, and drenched in something pretending to be “gravy.” I wouldn’t feed that to a stray dog — actually, that would be animal cruelty.
Oh, and the ambiance? Imagine being trapped in a 1990s dentist office with bad lighting and the faint smell of mildew. There was a flickering light above our table that felt like a horror movie jump scare waiting to happen, and the music was a random loop of elevator jazz mixed with what I swear was a dial-up modem sound.
The bathroom? I’d rather go in a gas station dumpster behind a haunted Waffle House. Filthy, unkempt, and no soap. Zero hygiene. An actual biohazard.
In short: Spazio’s is where your taste buds go to die. If you value your time, your money, your digestive system, and your will to live — stay...
Read moreThe overall impression of the food tasted like it came store-bought and cobbled together.
First the good: The stuffed mushrooms had a pretty good flavor. The salmon and asparagus were cooked well with a nice crust to it.
Service was pretty good - everyone was nice and didn't mind us sharing every plate.
The bad: The bread that came wasn't anything special. The mashed potatoes that came with it had an overbearing horseradish taste, which was super odd. The chicken orecchiette had a weird sour taste from the artichoke + capers that didn't seem to fit with the orecchiette pasta (the pasta tasted store-bought), which was sad because the chicken alone was not bad.
I thought dessert could be a good redemption, but the chocolate cake tasted like it had been frozen and reheated and the vanilla ice cream (though very good vanilla bean flavor) had a bunch of ice crystals in it that...
Read moreWe have passed this restaurant many times and often said we should give it a try. We were upset at what we had missed all these years. We enjoyed Valerie our bartender/ server/ menu guide who made excellent recommendations. Valerie started us out with our drinks and homemade hummus, yum, and homemade breads. My wife had the corn and clam chowder which she loved and I had a ceasar salad and was pleased that they had anchovies when I asked. My wife loved the chicken under the brick, which is very popular here and I had the sausage and eggplant with pasta in a terrific red sauce. We were told Mike ther owner/ chef makes everything homemade including the pasta. It's great that on most entrees they offer 2 sizes and although I ordered the smaller sausage meal because of the size of the salad I still had enough for lunch...
