UPDATE: They're renovating the shop! They have a sign on the front door that says that they'll be open again on Friday October 11th 2024! I look forward to scratching one of my complaints off the list below! :D
Old review below:
The first place to ever make me coffee drink that I finished before it got cold!
Great coffee, great customer service, lovely atmosphere...but I have two complaints that prevents this place from being PERFECT:
The menu is a BIT overwhelming to look at? There are a lot of custom drink names that have no descriptions. Every time I go in, I have to stop myself from asking what certain special items are because I'd rather just stick with what's written in plain text and I know what I'm getting. Some lost opportunities to discover some great unique drink combinations, since you can't know what's in them unless you ask.
The place feels a bit...unfinished? It just in general feels very work-in-progress in its design. Very rough around the edges with a lot of things...which is strange since so much of the signage is so fancy and clean and nice. The ATM is just kinda strangely in front of the door? And there's the entire area across from the counter by the front window that seems to just...not serve any purpose at all? It might have stuff over there, but I can't for the life of me remember what -- and I was JUST in there yesterday!
All in all, it's one of, if not THE best coffee place I've ever been to. Some general design changes for the storefront itself would make it the PERFECT place to get coffee. I stand ready to see that happen; everyone there seems very keen to go above and beyond for their...
Read moreI recently found myself waiting for an appointment in Braintree, MA, and decided to explore the area. After visiting a nearby pond/lake, I decided to grab a cup of coffee at PS Gourmet Coffee. At first, I was a bit disappointed to find that there were no seating areas available, since I wanted to sit and work on my laptop, but I decided to grab a cup of coffee to go. To my delight, I found out that the coffee was only $1. I left nearly a dollar tip and enjoyed my coffee on the go.
The coffee itself was decent, and more than decent when it comes to the cost. The service, design and branding of the shop were more impressive than the flavor. The staff was professional and friendly, and treated me as well as other costumers with respect and care. Although, there is no wifi available at the shop, there is free wifi from a nearby establishment, Bates Grill. but since there are no seating areas it would be moot.
Overall, I had a pleasant experience at PS Gourmet Coffee and would recommend it for those looking for a quick and affordable cup of coffee in Braintree. Just keep in mind that there are no seating areas available, but the parking on the street was easy and free so you could enjoy your coffee on the go with wifi in your vehicle.
Enjoy your dose of caffeine, and let me know what other places in the NE region I should check up...
Read moreWOW! Best coffee ever! I have been all over the country and love coffee, and this just hit my top 5 easily!
First-The location is small but enough room for a crowd and is very clean. There is four big chalkboards with clearly written menu items and they have alot to choose from which next time I’m in the Boston area I’ll be coming back here to try something else. The staff was really friendly and fast as well. Waited about 5 minutes and was out of there!
Second- whenever I visit a coffee shop for the first time I always just get a hot coffee first, and my god was it good. Seriously I could drink a couple a day. It was perfect. My fiancé got the caramel delight mocha and she couldn’t stop talking about it! We grabbed a couple bites for the ride into the city and they were delicious. They do have breakfast sandwiches and everything is very reasonably priced. It’s a good spot and I HIGHLY recommend checking...
