This was our first time here as we were looking for a replacement for 4th and Cherry which sadly closed. The food here is okay. The fries were good. I had bone in wings which weren’t very crispy and kinda tough as a result. $15 for ten wings and it doesn’t come with fries or anything you have to order those separately. The lobster ragoons were yummy. My fiancé got a burger and said it was okay, better than Mad Hatter but not the best burger ever. My son had a cheese pizza and enjoyed it. Drinks ranged in price from $10-$14 but were overall kinda weak for the price, which was not listed on the menu so we had a surprise when we got the check. The music was way too loud. I get it’s a sports bar, which is fine, but your couldn’t even talk over the noise. I felt the noise level was in contrast with the decor. It comes off more upscale but then isn’t and given more dive bar vibes. Rated a 3 because it was just okay. We might go back and try some other items.

We went there St. Patrick’s Day and ordered a couple of meals. The steak tips were small but OK. The waiter told me that the special was beef stew, so I ordered it. They gave me a half a bowl of beef stew which was fine if you like soup or stew. When I got the bill this special small half bowl of beef stew was $17.00. Who came up that price? I think I could’ve gotten it less expensive at the Ritz Carlton in Boston. Do I have to say anymore?

Great new addition to the Weymouth Landing/East Braintree area. The menu is definitely varied, with a vast selection of sandwiches, entrees, alcoholic beverages, and more. Service was quick and friendly as well. For a Thursday night it seemed to be relatively busy. The only downside is the relative lack of easy parking nearby

Normally, I don’t have the patience or effort to go online and make a review that most likely no one will see. But I am extremely displeased with Bates and will never give them my service again for the following reasons. One of my friends were denied service because of a private conversation we were having about politics. I could be wrong about this specific fact, but I personally felt like this had transpired because she didn’t agree w our opinion... Knowing, or rather thinking this way, I told the waitress that I wanted to speak to the manager and he had came over and sat down with us. He was respectful and wanted to assess the situation and in the end realized we were not being belligerent and that we were being completely respectful to him and the establishment. After leaving I pledged not to go back there for this reason. At least, that’s what I thought. I came back there because we are regulars and I figured I’d give it another shot. This time both my friend and I had fruit flies in our drinks and other random bugs.... we didn’t make to much of it but I personally was very upset. We didn’t receive an apology, a discount on our drinks — nothing.... it’s “the season” was our explanation. They poured us another drink from what appeared to be from the same exact bottle they had used to serve us the original drink that had the bugs in them... this place used to be a great spot for my friends and I but after the last two times coming here I can assure you this place will NOT receive another dime out of my pocket.... definitely is a shame because I thought highly of this place, too, prior of this situation.... hopefully everyone else will not have the same...

Great atmosphere and decent service. But my poor review is the low quality food. I just woke up this morning finally feeling better after 3 days of some type of food poisoning/stomach issue after eating at Bates last week. Both my husband and I shared the buffalo egg rolls and got side Caesar salads, but different entrees. I got the Avocado BLT and added chicken, and I knew something was wrong and my stomach was off the second I was done eating. Not sure what part of the sandwich it was...the "Texas toast" was just heavily greased up wheat bread, the avocado was brown, the lettuce was soggy, all of it was low quality. I'll spare the gory details but all I could stomach for the last 72 hours was minimal water and saltines. I sincerely hope no one else got sick and hopefully they can figure out what ingredient was the issue. I'm so disappointed as it was my first time there and I loved the vibe of the place. But will definitely...
