Fuji is our favorite Japanese restaurant for many reasons. Like many restaurants of Asian fare, Fuji is a family owned and operated small business. It has the best sushi and rolls in the surrounding Jackson areas, including Ridgeland and Madison in my personal opinion! It is always fresh in taste and appearance. I did not give an "excellent" rating for the food, because the hibachi items are not cooked at your table as they are at larger establishments. It is rather prepared in the kitchen and brought to you all at once. The hibachi dishes are somewhat different than what you might be expecting from other hibachi restaurants, but I assure you that they are every bit just as palatable. The chef will prepare practically anything to your specifications. My family has restricted dietary needs which they have always accommodated without an attitude or added charges. The owners are extremely personable, but respectful and professional. Seating is more limited than other establishments, so it makes for a more intimate dining experience, especially if you opt for a table near the picture window at the back of the restaurant where you can view the tranquil outdoor oriental garden and quoi pond. A lunch menu provides options at special prices, while the evening menu prices are comparable to other full scale Japanese restaurants, but worth it. The exterior of the building does not offer a great first impression, so don't let that cheat you out of a pleasant surprise. This is one of those jewels yet to be discovered - - - great things come in small packages! But maybe I should be keeping that to myself, since I wouldn't want...
Read moreFirst off, we have never written a review, much less a bad review. However, after eating at this restaurant for years (and recommending it to friends and family) it is apparent that their customer service has greatly suffered in recent months, and we will no longer eat here nor give it's recommendation. In particular, their take out service is terrible. We live 4.3 miles away from this restaurant and generally order between $20-$40 worth of food every time during the regular work week. EVERY single time we've ordered in recent months we've been told different criteria: whether it's the minimum amount-spent required to deliver to us, or the allowable miles to deliver to us, it's always one thing after another, and they're never consistent with their answers. I have convinced my husband the past couple of times to give them another chance- even driving up their one night to pick up our order! But tonight (Wednesday) just solidified his (& my) huge disappointment. We placed a $40 order-for-delivery an hour before closing, only to get a call 15 minutes later that they will not be able to fill it. My husband told the manager that we will no longer be eating here, to which she replied "ok." Any restaurant can have good food any day, every day.... But if they also show serious lack of consideration for their customers, they will never make it. I have seen other reviews on this restaurant in regards their "take-out problems", and it is all true! Most importantly, their customer service is...
Read moreI’m not the type to hand out bad reviews but in this case I feel it’s needed. I wouldn’t want any new Brandon residence to experience what I did today with my family. We Came here for the first time because based off the reviews people spoke highly. I would have to say being disappointed is an understatement. The food was nothing close to the pictures posted. The taste was extremely disappointing and unsatisfying. My steak was not cooked how I asked nor was it flavored in anyway. Our hibachi rice was half brown half white not cooked how it should be and definitely not Fresh. Each meal we got had different veggies definitely inconsistent. Lastly, the yummy sauce was nothing close to being yummy. Their sauce had the weirdest taste I’ve ever encountered for hibachi. This is definitely not authentic in anyway. I will never come here again. I will take the longer ride to Ichiban where the hibachi taste...
