Update... 12/20/2024 I ordered the Salmon Avacado salad as I had a year previous... it looked better in comparison to the previous year's photos, but the salmon was sooo fishy, the avocado was brown, the egg was missing, and the dressing was old and gross. I called and spoke with a young gentleman (Christopher) who was very nice, apologetic, and offered to refund my money through their online ordering service provider... well, it's been over a month and no refund. I never called for the refund (even though 20 dollars is crazy for a bad salad) and really just wanted the restaurant to know as I previously thought they had the best salmon salad in the area well... the salmon left a bad taste in my mouth, but their lack of integrity left a worse taste. Their watermelon cucumber juice was very good, but I dont think I would return to a place with poor values..... so ..... this previous review was true for 2023 as I had this salad a few times ordered by my then boyfriend that year, but 2024 proved a lot can change in a year! .....I ordered from here 7/31/23.. I ordered the Salmon Avacado Salad, the Avacado House Sampler (No Bacon), and Strawberry Mint Pineapple Infused Flavored Water. I asked for my salmon well, well done because I'm funny about fish and hate a fishy fish... only place I've had moist delicious salmon was $100 a plate so I don't take chances with fish I know nothing about... rather have it dry and seasoned than fishy lbs. The salad was actually pretty freaking good. The salmon was seasoned well, with a kick of heat on the back end. The only problem with the salmon salad was the browning avocado slices in it... uhm.. lime juice... lil olive or avacado oil on the slices promptly after cutting could help with the browning. Anyways... I ate around them... so much for the avacado in Avacado Theory, lol. The Sampler platef was pretty good... loved the egg rolls most... the onion rings were next... then deviled eggs... lastly, the flavorless Avo Fries! Those fries definitely need the sauce to be edible, unfortunately. If you eat pork ... the bacon may help the deviled eggs for you. I am part of the 50 % who hates cilantro so that hurt the egg rolls for me but if you're with the other side of the population you'll love them because even with the "soap lettuce" they were the best of the Sampler platter. Now last but not necessarily least.... the flavored water... it initially tastes like this mildly strawberry flavored water... I added raw unfiltered honey to mine, and that brought out all the flavors intended (strawberry, mint, pineapple) it was delicious after I refrigerated it some...
Read moreSo I've come here several times and I'll say that food and service are pretty inconsistent. Some days I'll get served right away and the staff are super attentive. Other days I'll stand at the register and have to wait several minutes to be waited on even with no one else in line.
There are a few menu items I like that are go-tos for me. I really like there breakfast wraps and their breakfast omelet. Goes great with their avocado tea. However, I don't often branch out on their menu to try new items, because their items are very hit or miss. Some items taste great and others have dry chicken or too much or too little of certain ingredients. And the place is on the pricier side so it's hard to take the risk and try something new when it's so hit or miss. I understand they are a smaller business and avacados are expensive, so I'm not begruding the price, but know that it'll be a pricier meal if you end up going. They do offer deals for return customers like free smoothies or the week or free cup of soup, which is a nice touch.
The atmosphere is pretty cosey. I like it because it's usually pretty quiet so it's a nice place to work while I eat. The staff who take your plates are pretty friendly, but recently I've been having a pretty off putting experience where the staff will approach my table and ask for me to review the place then and there. Once was even in the middle of a conversation I had with a friend. I typically don't mind requests to rate the place sometime later when I get home but I find it really off putting to have the staff stand there waiting for you to pull out your phone to rate the place.
Overall, I still plan on going back on occasion, but I can definitely see it not being...
Read moreThe food was good, don’t get me wrong. That’s not why I’m taking off two stars.
I got the Avocado Creamy Spinach Parmesan Chicken meal. The meal itself was fantastic (and gluten free). The chicken was juicy and seasoned with an exotic blend of spices. The rice was sticky and had a unique herbal flavor. The notes melted right on the tongue. The avocado slices only added more guests to the party going on in my mouth.
The first issue was that it was supposed to come with pita chips. As you can see in the picture, it did not.
Also pictured is a special note that the owner wrote with each meal. With the expensive price of the meal, I thought that was considerate and kind and made me feel appreciated. Then I realized there were two notes written together and it was pre-written. Not the worst thing in the world, but it knocked the door off my confidence a little bit.
That was the second issue. The third was already mentioned, but it was the prices. If you are looking for food that can last you a couple meals for cheap (or even expensive), this is not the place for you.
The meal only has about 600-660 calories, which can be prepared at home for a bit cheaper. But obviously this is a restaurant, so you are partially paying for preparation. Yet my meal cost over 30 bucks.
Price isn’t a huge deal-breaker for me. Therefore, I’m only knocking it down two stars. Still very tasty. The avocado ice cream I ordered for dessert isn’t everyone’s forte (it’s basically sweet avocado), but it was my favorite part of the meal. At least give it a try if you come here. It was only 6 bucks and they gave me a big tub of it.
That was a...
