I've been here three times and I still plan on coming back.
Coming here the first time I took the Rock Island Metra line as the building doubles as a train station even though there are always parking spots available and arrived with high hopes. And I was not disappointed!
I ordered some Tea and a Bagel to dine in with and I was surprised with the quality of both! The staff got my order for tea perfectly and as an added bonus: they also let you order it with a mug! Although it doesn't mean much to most, coming here with my mother and having tea in a mug was very calming and conversation inviting.
The bagel was amazing with cream cheese spread perfectly around both halves with a size good enough for a breakfast meal. It felt lovely to have a bagel place so close by without having to drive that was capable of providing a plain bagel that filled me up.
In the very well temperature controlled building there is lovely seating and even free games like Uno to play! There is also a model train that you can activate that is cool to watch. And even though I haven't gone yet, in the spring they open the clock tower to climb and look over Oak Park Ave and the old buildings. They also have free WiFi
Overall a great experience and I really recommend it to others looking for a place to come together, study, or have a coffee and something to eat. I had a...
Read moreMy original review is below (the beginning of it).
I had to update to state that the establishment reached out and was extremely apologetic. They went far above and beyond any expectation that I could have possibly had in order to make things right. So much so, that I will be returning as a customer. A regular customer. Maybe the experience that i had was a one off, but I can see from their response and dealings with me after the fact that they do not like their customers to leave with anything less than a 5* feeling about them. They want return business and they show it.
I would like to say, the coffee that I’ve had, including the original beans that I purchased were very tasty as well.
The product is extremely important, but so is the service, and they do seem to have both. Now I realize that my first experience is not the norm with Krema

So surprised to see such a high rating at this place where I was let down at almost every turn.
I needed a freshly roasted bean to make my own espresso until some came from one of the roasters I frequent. Decided to try this little place
I paid over $16 for 12 oz bag of beans. That’s a bit high but, ok.
The FRESHEST bean they had that was not a decaf was 3 weeks old. Most of them were over a...
Read moreSuch a cute coffee place. Atmosphere is absolutely darling. I love the wooden finishes throughout, and especially enjoy the varied seating. There are picnic tables outside, and a mix of tables, bar stools, and lounge chairs inside. There are a lot of charger outlets on the tables as well. It's a large enough space that even when it's busy, you don't feel like a packed sardine. My small iced matcha with almond milk cost a little over $6 which isn't the best price, but they don't skimp on the powder which is nice. The bathroom matches the vibe of the rest of the place, and is well taken care of. The barista who took my order didn't mind me asking her a good list of questions in regard to my order, and didn't make me feel rushed. I enjoyed getting a few tasks done online in between clients while chilling inside, worth the...
