Beautiful BEAUTIFUL place...HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE (mostly attitude based) !!! I had a horrible time being a first timer to the primal cut... Me and my overworking husband went out on a first date after months... Firstly, my husband was offended because the server asked were we SHARING A MEAL, felt like we didn't belong... we ALWAYS frequent steakhouses... Well, here at Primal cut, they charbroiled the WHOLE STEAK... front lady came over and told us sternly, loudly and pointing her finger at us and the food, "well, that's how you ordered it, these steaks cost us too much money to replace, im gonna have to argue with the kitchen and they won't re-do this one... yea Ms your steak is burnt, but your husband's wasn't as bad they won't redo his, shouldn't order it like that" Blah blah on and on repeating it loudly...Look at how black the bone is on the pic, the char was definitely all over the steak...... All while talking loudly, pointing her finger , rudly as ever as others watched from the tables nearby... I was stunned, embarrassed, and I gently told her this was my first time here, seriously holding back tears as I wanted to get up and walk out right then, didn't want any trouble... YES she was talking to us like that..maybe because we were ⚫, who knows, but a bad day she must have been having because that was a terrible feeling, felt like I didn't belong there, felt like she was talking as if we were gonna skip the bill because it was BURNT and uneatable.... we had a $150 bill, paid it and left immediately...only because we didn't feel comfortable anymore after that yelling, loud talking and pointing about how we made it that way..., They got the steaks remade and to GO... my appetite was GONE... the bread was delightful, the chicken jambalaya soup was great!!! .. She apologized later saying she wasn't trying to argue, but the kitchen was gonna argue with her and how it was frustrating..... it was too late by then... I was just ready to eat the burnt steak after that even though a $68 steak tasted like charcoal. Sorry to say, i will never go there again AND will pass the story on as the avid reviewer I am.. Worst 35 minutes of my LIFE and truth be told, those 2 steaks will probably go in the garbage...too hard to enjoy something you don't want to ever remember, just to be treated like that was unacceptable by a means... Lord have Mercy....

I was really hoping for an exceptional experience. Historically, the South Suburbs have lacked fine dining options, and with the positive reviews, I had high expectations. Unfortunately, the overall experience was just fair. The restaurant was scheduled to open at 2 PM on Sunday according to Google, but the doors didn’t open until 3 PM. One by one, guests showed up around 2:45, just as confused as we were. Once seated in a lovely dining area, we were promptly served warm bread with a sweet, spreadable butter—a nice start. The crab cake, however, was underwhelming for a steakhouse—more filler than crab, though it was shareable for two. The tempura-fried lobster bites were tender and came with a tangy sauce that worked well. The wine list was solid, and the cocktail menu had a few curious offerings worth exploring. The iceberg salad with your choice of dressing felt out of place for a fine dining establishment—it lacked flair. The lamb chops were hit or miss: some were cooked to the medium rare we ordered, while others were well-done, and they were noticeably fatty. The garlic mashed potatoes were well-seasoned, while the Mexican corn was very salty. The sea bass was salty as well. Dessert was a visual standout: the carrot cake arrived towering with a steak knife plunged into the center. Unfortunately, the flavor didn’t match the presentation. It lacked a memorable taste, and while I could be wrong, it didn’t seem to be made with cream cheese icing—something I consider essential for that sweet, tangy balance. Service, however, was five-star—attentive and friendly throughout. I wasn’t thrilled about the automatic gratuity for a party of three, though it was slightly less than I typically tip, so perhaps a win-win. In fairness, we didn’t try the steak, which may be their true specialty. For now, I’ll keep my fingers crossed for a fine dining experience in the South Suburbs that truly lives up to the promise. **Food is salty so please note as my elderly mom couldn’t enjoy many dishes.

Went recently for dinner and was very underwhelmed. Overall we had a decent time but I can guarantee you’d have a better time elsewhere.

1/5 Service: this is the worst customer service I’ve ever seen in a restaurant. Going in we knew this place has a strict no grace period rule, so we all arrived on time but we couldn’t help but feel bad for the people that arrived before us. It was a large party (maybe 6 people) and they had one person arrive 5 minutes past their reservation. The host told them they will have to wait longer as a result though. This was on a night that wasn’t too crowded, there were no other large parties waiting to be seated. Unless they gave away the table to a party of 2 or 4, in a span of 5 minutes, there is no reason why they couldn’t be seated at 7:05 instead of 7 pm. Just before we were about to be seated, my mom asked the host for a GF menu. The host then asked if she has a celiac disease and when my mom said,no it’s just a sensitivity, the host responded “good cause I wouldn’t want to deal with you then”. It was flat out rude and put a damper on the whole experience. Our server made us feel rushed. I understand it’s a business and restaurants make money by turning over tables quickly but the customer should not be treated. We would’ve tipped lower if it weren’t for the 18% gratuity fee already on the bill. Yes I understand any successful restaurant is more concerned about making money than the customer experience, but as I customer I still shouldn’t feel like I’m treated poorly.

Food: the only reason why I give more than one star is because my parents both enjoyed their food of the dry aged New York strip and the king salmon. For the New York strip, my dad ordered medium well, I didn’t see any pink so I’m convinced it was more on the well done side. I recommend ordering it just medium or medium raw but the piece I tried was still very good. My girlfriend had the burger and really liked it. I had the sea scallops which I enjoyed except for the shell I found in my lobster risotto that was about the size of a nickel. All the food was great but not perfect.

(3/5)Atmosphere: the restaurant looks very nice. The reason I’m giving 3 stars though is because all the chairs were wobbly and our table was small for a party of 4. We were seated at a high top and I felt like I was going to fall out of my chair, I ended up switching my chair with another table which helped. The bar on the chair to rest your feet was rather high and made my legs uncomfortable. Please consider investing in better tables and chairs.

I understand parts of my review may be nitpicking but for a restaurant that costs has much as this one, I hold it to a very high standard. I want this place to improve and hope if I ever come back the chef double checks there are no shells in my food, they have better chairs, and most importantly that the staff learn to treat their customers with respect and make them feel...

The experience started on a bad note but ended on a great one.

We went Sunday September 1st to celebrate our wedding anniversary. I used Open Table to make a 5:30 reservation. We arrived about 10 minutes early and the hostess encouraged us to have a drink at the bar while we waited for our table.

The bartenders were very accommodating and knowledgeable on their drink list. I will say, the wine list in my opinion was lack luster for an upper scale steak house but the house Pinot was decent.

About 15 minutes went by without a word, so I headed to the hostess stand. She informed me she couldn’t find us and gave our table away (there were maybe 5 people at the bar so how she missed us, I don’t understand). Irritated, the manager came around and said we’ll get you seated up next. Another 20 minutes, she finds up and brings us over to a high top table, a dirty one at that and claims “oh sorry looks like it’s not ready” at this point it’s past our reservations we wanted to be say in the dining area and my husband and I were both irritated.

After speaking to the manager yet again, he was very accommodating and understanding of our frustrations. We got sat in the back of the dining room which I loved. Very quiet and more private.

Our server was absolutely lovely. She took very good care of us the rest of the night and the manager did come often to make sure we were enjoying our meal.

I started with a glass of the house Cabernet ( at $10 a glass it was much better than the Pinot) and crab cake. We also got bread with butter as we sat. Bread was warm with a great crumb. The butter had a slight sweetness I enjoyed. The crispy exterior of the crab cake was delicious and the crab was moist and full of flavor. Not back with extra stuffing which was great to see. Paired with a lemon aioli and sriracha it was a perfect bite. Next was a baked French onion soup. Well salted and not overly greasy. My husband had a New York strip and I a ribeye. Both cooked as we preferred. I did have to add salt to my steak but was happy with it over all. We both had their version of a loaded baked potato with a cheese sauce, butter, bacon and sour cream served in an All- Clad ramekin. We did bring those home as it was a large portion. But it was bubbling hot at the table and very rich.

Dessert was a very yummy baked apple cobbler. The crust was perfectly flakey and perfectly sweet. The apples were well backed with a great cinnamon flavor. A bit loose for my liking but a great bite with their vanilla ice cream.

Over all, starting issues aside, we enjoyed the food and were extremely happy with our service. The manager couldn’t have been more accommodating and the server was absolutely sweet.

I wouldn’t say this is the best steak house out there but, I was happy to give them a second chance. We traveled from Indiana just to try the restaurant and the staff alone is worth the hype (maybe just not...

Been trying to make it here for a while. Finally got a chance yesterday 2-18-2024, made an online reservation for 230pm but my date made us 19 minutes late. We walked up to hostess desk and immediately I felt the attitude of Laura their main hostess. I have her my name and she couldn’t find the reservation, then she explained that because we were late that their computer automatically deletes the reservation. However if I were to go back online to open table it showed me 15 minutes before I got there that a 230pm reservation was still available. Now I’m perplexed. Laura tells me to not go back online and rebook another reservation, our options are to go to the bar and sit down and eat or wait until 3pm….. We decided to just go to the bar even though she was very rude and we were pressed for time to eat and start our journey back home. We sit at the bar and the bartender starts making our drinks, Laura comes back up to us 15 minutes later and says I can get you guys a table top by the bar window, so we accepted. We go back to the hostess table and she changes her mind again and says she will sit us inside the small room across from the hostess counter. Again we accept. Then she proceeds to tell us that they have to be careful about how many people they seat and how many reservations they accept because they don’t have enough wait staff to help out around the restaurant. Sounds like poor preparation to me especially with this being post Valentine’s Day weekend. Nontheless, we get a waitress named Candy, she was very nice and sweet. My date had the primal cut burger and the baked potato with the Caesar salad. She said her food was good. I had the cream of chicken and mushroom soup which was good and the chicken Marsala which was also good. I also ordered a side of the broccolini and Brussels sprouts with only the sauce and I must say the Brussel sprouts were definitely the star of the show, I would definitely go back just to order them with the sauce. If I had to recommend an alcoholic beverage I ordered the strawberry/raspberry margarita with Don Julio tequila and that was definitely the runner up for being the star of the show. Finally the bill, with all of their rules on their website and an explanation as to what to expect, it says that they only add 18-20% gratuity to parties of 6 which of course there were only 2 of us. This made me laugh, however I didn’t want to pursue the issue in front of my date I just paid. I felt very slighted by this though because there is no mention of this anyway before you sit down, after you have been seated or when they bring you the bill. If I ever did return they would have some explaining to do. Nontheless the food was ok nothing so spectacular that I...
