I dropped one star off my original rating due to multiple service related lapses in recent months this year, 2019. Everything below is from my original 2018 posting. Stacked in Crestwood hasn't been open very long, but it has quickly shot up the ranks 🚀 to become one of my favorite breakfast spots. 🍽 👍 🏅 On my first visit this summer (2018) I ordered the steak skillet with diced red potatoes and was instantly hooked. Included are generous amounts of deliciously juicy flank steak made to order, heaps of sauteed vegetables, potatoes, and 2XL eggs. One more important point, Stacked is the only place I've been to that cooks the steak in their steak skille, fresh and made to order. when you order it. Other restaurants mix in already cooked (sometimes dried out) steak bits that often times lack flavor. Kudos!!! 😋 👍 👨🍳 👏 A skillet piled so high, I routinely take half the steak, vegetables, and potatoes home in a to-go box, fry up some eggs the next morning, and make two meals out of one. 🥩 🍳 🥔 👍 Hash browns are the defacto spud with the breakfast meals here, but I would (and do) pay extra for the diced red potatoes, a better alternative if you ask me. 🥔 👍 As a "change of pace" I tried the regular flank steak and egg breakfast (Fall 2018) and was amazed at the slabs of meat I received 🥩 🥩 🥩 - so much so that it's served on its own plate, separate from the eggs and potatoes. However because the diced potatoes don't have the opportunity to soak up juices from steak chunks and vegetables, like they do in skillet dishes, some might find the plain diced potatoes dry and/or bland - I add pepper to add a kick of flavor. The pancakes I sampled were nice and thick, however syrup didn't soak in much for some reason, on the two occasions I tried them (Summer 2018). On a more recent (Dec., 2018) visit I took home an order of biscuits and gravy. The biscuits and gravy I sampled were spicier and saltier than I prefer. 🙁 All is not lost however. I took the opportunity to try the French toast (Jan 2019) with a side order of ham. As with many items here portions are generous. Add these two to the Mmm, Mmm, Good column. A delicious departure to my steak and eggs staple. This Little Piggy went Qui, Qui, Qui all the way home thanks to my heavenly French toast. 🐷 👍 😋 Service is another one of my measuring sticks. From tending to my requests to clearing the table, to coffee refills ☕ 👍, I have received excellent service on each occasion I've been there. Stacked has a crew to be proud of - always working hard and keeping the place spotless. 🏆 I have yet to go there for lunch, however the lunch menu does look tempting enough to lure me in one day. This location is not huge, so to avoid waits on weekends I strongly recommend going there as early as possible 🛌 💤 🌞 - they open at 6AM daily. Stacked's popularity has spread like wildfire - a testament to the quality of the meals offered and the service delivered. For those reasons and more they have earned my loyalty and appreciation. 👏 Terrific food items like the Steak Skillet, plus servers like Lisa 👱♀️ 👍, Christina 👧 👍, and everyone else at Stacked have won me over. No restaurant is perfect, but Stacked has so many positives going for it that I still HIGHLY recommend giving...
Read moreFood is wonderful. Always has been when we get it delivered. Tried to change it up and go inside for a change - worst experience ever and probably lost a customer who spends nearly $100 every other weekend (was our fav breakfast place to get delivered for our kids). If you have kids under the age of 5, do not dine inside. The experience left such a terrible taste in my mouth I don't even want to get the food delivered anymore. We were eating, our children were being fine. We were seated later then a bunch of big parties. It was only me, my fiance and two kids. We didn't take much space and we weren't causing a ruckus, we actually were making friends with nearby customers and we're enjoying ourselves.
Why am I leaving a one star? When my fiance took the last bite of his dish, the bus woman snatched it off the table .. didn't ask if we were finished... She stood by our table the whole time watching us eat. We couldn't even enjoy our food at this point. My daughter walked out eating her piece of bacon to give you an idea.
I understand when it's busy you turn tables to get more tips and get more people in and out quickly, but this simply seemed kid related at this point. I am a waitress myself. But being a waitress i notice things. I looked around and no one else is getting rushed. No one else is getting hawked while eating. To say it was uncomfortable was an understatement. This was probably the worse part about our experience. I understand to keep up with coffee and water but to rush us out is terrible hospitality no matter how big the line is out the door especially if we are seated later than most tables in the restaurant.
Check came and we noticed a 10% gratuity. Not sure if this is standard procedures for their dining but as a server, usually this is only added on huge parties or tables who will stiff you a tip, or maybe at this restaurant - because we have kids?
Being a server we always over tip. We always take care of our waitresses because even if they're having a bad day, that's their living. My fiance and I are young parents. We don't look your normal "yuppie" look. Maybe your waitress staff and bussers should not judge a book by its cover. You guys lost a family who got your food delivered almost weekly.
If you have children under 5 - do NOT dine here. If you guys think we didn't notice this or weren't going to write a review - you're wrong.
Don't judge a book...
Read moreI've never been to this restaurant and my father want to try it out. so I called ahead and I asked a specific question about their menu. I get there they are busy we wait an hour to be seated which is fine, when we get the chance to order the waitress informs me that we were informed wrong. she offered to get the manager. the manager came over and that's where the problem begin. explained to the manager what happened that I called and I was given wrong information. the manager then stated " not possible, I am the only one that answers the phone and I never took a call like yours". and then proceeded to show her my phones call history and showed her the number I called and in fact was this restaurants number and I was on the phone for 5 minutes. she again said not possible. I stated this is ridiculous I'm not arguing about this anymore I'm just going to leave a bad review and just leave not worth my time. she then stated ho really over that and then she just walked away. when I originally asked to speak to the manager I was just going to tell her that the employee that answer the phone (which infact sounded exactly like the girl up front, it was a young female voice, but was told NOT POSSIBLE) that if they are unsure of something that they should go and ask the manager before they give a definite answer to the customer. so a very tiny thing blew up into a big thing because the head manager was so rude. why would anyone lie about making a phone call and go as far as to forge their call history????
I wish the problem and did there but it didn't. I called the other location in oak lawn and ask to speak to a manager. I was told the manager is not there. very strange but okay. I asked if she wouldn't mind passing along my information to the manager and have them call me back. nobody has bothered to call me back. I've never experienced such rudeness in my life! I even had a discussion with one of the employees apparently this manager is not liked by the staff either she's not a nice person. apparently the owner does not seem to care because no one has bothered to call me back.
in addition to all this as we left my father left his Cane there and we immediately called the restaurant and they said there's no cane anywhere. lol I doubt someone stole an...
