Edit: 10/17/20 We came back for our 5 year anniversary to give it another shot. I got the Italian steaks and caprese salad, and my wife got the ny strip steak. I added sauteed onions and mushrooms to mine and it was to die for. The roasted peppers and generous amounts of mushrooms and onions in the sauce was amazing. I had broccoli that I dipped in the sauce and it was fantastic. The owner stood by his word and comped us what he said he would. They have also done some remodeling and the "outdoor" area is all redone and looks like inside! Overall it was a solid 5 stars. Glad to see the business is still good and last time we visited musta just been a fluke. Thanks again You know, I used to love this place. It's been about 8 months since we have been there and I have to say I feel like it's not as good. We got baked clams and generally they are breaded, these just had like a paste on them and seemed to be pretty overcooked and chewy. The shrimp dijhonge was really good. I had the pasta Valencia, wife had gnocchi ala vodka. Gnocchi was fantastic, it was light and fluffy. My dish however was a different story. It was loaded with seafood, good right!? No. They opted for large clams, vs using the littleneck. This equated out to large chewy muscle. I spit it out, it was gross. Shrimp were good. The mussels however, tasted extremely fishy. Some weren't even opened, leasing me to believe they were already dead. We love mussels and never had them taste this bad. The scallops, which I normally love, were boring, it's like they just boiled them in the sauce. Come on sear those babies up and put them on display in this dish. The dish came in a big bowl and the sauce was a white wine sauce. Litterally was like eating an Italian bowl of ramen. If we go back I think I will stick to land and pasta as those have been always good. I will avoid the seafood like the plague. If you have a hankering for good baked clams, Capri has absolutely fantastic one. One last think: if you get Beth for a server, you will be well taken care of. I've been lucky enough to have her as my server for 75% of my visits and she has always been over the top awesome!

Though I was in the Illinois area for a short amount of time, the foodie in me needed to explore before I departed last week. I stumbled upon an Italian restaurant called Bella Mia. The menu was very expansive & I wanted to try everything. To start off, I ordered a glass of wine (I think Zinfandel), which was quite delightful & beautiful in its romantic, yet historic ambiance playing Frank Sinatra. My waiter brought bread & butter to the table & to my surprise, had roasted garlic on the side. I have never in my life seen an Italian restaurant offer roasted garlic on the side with bread & butter. This may be a new standard I'd like to see at Italian restaurants I may visit in the future 😅. Dinner: I ordered the Pasta Velencia (I am sure if this is the correct name of the pasta because it's not on the website. It was either the Velencia or Linguine Portofino) with Caesar salad. I was disappointed that they ran out of anchovies. The salad was pretty okay. The pasta dish itself was MASSIVE in a giant bowl. I must say I was overwhelmed. It was pretty delicious, but there was no way I could finish a massive dish like that in one sitting. I had to take it back to my hotel & finish it the next day. This dish would be ideal for two people. The pasta was cooked to perfection al dente, and the seafood in the pasta was very fresh/high quality. Overall, I recommend it. The ambiance is very romantic and intimate (a date night vibe for sure). Outside of the restaurant, it may not appear to be as such, but don't be fooled. Parking is easy & the staff are quite friendly and informative.

Nice place. Server, Shay, was good. Had eggplant parm with meatballs, Minestrone, salad, bread was delicious. Had seabass which was good but substituted pasta for the spinach. Got the spinach anyway, pasta eventually came as a side. Pasta was good but was not married with sauce on fish. Owner came to ask how everything was, told him. Server said we get free cupcake for our anniversary but opted for tirmaisu. Apologies but still paid for side, spinach, desert & coffee. Something seemed wrong about that. Subsequently good place to go for a special occasion but no substations. Update: went back on Xmas eve. Alexia waitress was personable & good. Martinis were outstanding. Even got bonus. Substitutions are still a no no. Had baked artichokes, tender but sauce was outstanding. Used warm bread to sop up sauce. Mmmm. Veal picatta with pasta. Very good. Eggplant still excellent. Had new dessert tuxedo cake. Wow! Chocolate cake with chocolate mousse & cheese cake & whipped cream. A must. Hope it is a regular. Highly recommend.

ABSOLUTELY INSANELY AMAZING!!!! I wish I could leave a 100 star review!! My family and I took my daughter here for her Graduation dinner and we couldn’t have made a better choice. We were treated like ROYALTY to begin with. To start the evening off I first spoke with TOM over the phone to reserve a table - WOW what a gentleman he had the utmost professional customer service EVER!! He accommodated us unbelievably and even came up to our table after we arrived - let me add that was in the VIP ROOM - to introduce himself and make sure everything was perfect for us - LOVE THAT!! (Thank you again Tom) THEN we had the pleasure of the owner RANDY come to our table and also introduce himself and I don’t know where to begin with telling you all how special this man made us feel. He treated us like ROYALTY (but as I watched thru the night it wasn’t only our table but EVERY SINGLE TABLE in his restaurant he also made feel the same way). I highly suggest anyone that ever plans to open a business or already has a business makes a effort to come to Bella Mia and personally meet Randy, then either work a day w him or sit back and watch him for a day and learn what it takes to be a true owner. This man (RANDY) is just amazing and let me tell you is not afraid of work at all times you will see him (he’s not hiding in an office or hiding in the back or running out the back door - he is in constant view at all times working in any position that may need help - he could jump on line at any point wash dishes run food bartend etc etc to me that’s a true owner knowing every aspect of the business and ACTUALLY PERFORMING it when in need all w a SMILE always a SMILE on this mans face and that’s just true passion) At one point he took off his suit jacket and jumped right in to help his staff wherever they needed help from serving tables to clearing tables to bagging up food to cutting cakes to greeting tables to making drinks to talking to EVERY SINGLE TABLE to being at the door when leaving to make sure he says good night!! If that’s not professionalism I don’t what is then. He treats his staff w the utmost respect also he was so caring so helpful so attentive I’m just blown away with the amount of love and passion he has for everyone and this is the way every business should be ran. You can see that this man 100% believes without his staff he has nothing - you can see that every employee of his wakes up happy to get ready to come into work and leaves even happier knowing that they have a boss that actually takes care of them - RESPECT is a big role to fill and RANDY has over filled it by far. I wish every owner would be like him - so everyone reading this the next time you go out for a meal or want to learn how a restaurant should be ran please go to BELLA MIA I promise you - you won’t be disappointed!!!! Thank you again RANDY TOM AND THE STAFF for making our night the most fabulous night...

Went 2 days ago with high hopes... the greeter was nice, seated us toward the back as the live entertainer was very loud in front. The server was new, which is fine, but was not trained and should not have been on the floor in a Saturday night. It wasn't busy, there were plenty of servers and open tables as it was after the dinner rush. However... it took 45 minutes to order and the server was asked to check on allergen info (had to explain it 4 times! ) coming back every 10 minutes with a different answer and confused look. At one point he told us all the protein was pre- battered in egg! As though the kitchen would leave protein in an egg batter all day. Ugh. We almost walked out. They sent over the head bus boy Quinn. He was very knowledgeable, helped get the order made allergen de, and assured us everything could be made to order.

We tried grilled octopus appetizer, which was cooked perfectly, (we ate most of it, even though we thought it had an odd flavor profile being served with lots of yellow peppers and big hunks of shallot (?)), but still.. prepared very well. The calamari was good, a little over, but still ok. The pork chops (grilled)... very, very good! The allergen free dish however... while the veal was cooked correctly... was completely underseasoned. It was supposed to be veal limone. The meat itself was totally bland and the sauce had no discernable lemon flavor. They threw an uncooked slice of lemon on top... not at all good.

We will not be back. Ww had intended to bring a large party there tomorrow... trying it first negated that faux pas! Someone needs to train the waitstaff... oh, and Quinn deserves a promotion! He was the only thing that prevented is from leaving and giving a frustrated-...
