This place was exactly as I expected. Based on what I gleaned from other reviews here on Google, I assumed the view was nice and the food was mediocre. I am going to agree with the consensus here. We were able to get a nice seat right by the window with a view of the water. Though this view is pretty cool, you still get a lot of the parking lot and the top of the old run down hotel next door which isn't very pleasant to look at. It does get really warm in that room in the afternoon, and our table was actually pretty hot from the afternoon sun. The complimentary bread comes out with those little golden paper wrapped pads of plain butter. Nothing fancy. The bread looks cool in that the dough is rolled, but it wasn't very good and was a big garlic bomb. Not bad for being free.
We decided to order a 12" pizza to share with pepperoni, Italian sausage and black olives. When the pizza came out, it was covered in cheese. I do like a lot of cheese, but if you're the type who likes the toppings on top of of the cheese so they get a nice crispiness to them, then this won't be your type of place. All of the toppings are hidden under the mounds of cheese. The pizza itself was very disappointing. The crust and sauce remind me of frozen pizza, or something you'd get at a children's pizza place, not an Italian establishment. The toppings are just OK, but still just seem basic. The pizza was sliced oddly, in that, one person would get a tiny slice and the other would get one bigger than their head, so you may have to do some of your own portioning. All in all, after the first bite, I was just thinking, wow, lame. I knew the food would be mediocre, but this pizza is just sad for an Italian place.
We ordered two cannolis to share. They weren't very good either. The filling was bland and had chocolate chips in it, and the shells were pretty hard. Not bad for the price I get and they were pretty big, so just get one and share it, because eating one alone will give you a tummy ache. We also ordered a tiramisu to go and that was just OK, but looked too perfect to be made in house, it looked a lot like it came from a store or a bakery.
The prices are pretty good, which WILL have me coming back here if I just want the view and somewhere to chill and have kid pizza. Maybe we'll try the pasta next time as well. It's cheaper than the Italian place up the street, so that's a plus. The server was very nice, and they did a descent job keeping our drinks full, though I did catch myself waiting on water a couple times and the place wasn't busy at all. I would wonder what it would be like during a busy time.
The atmosphere is interesting, full of old polaroids of people who've visited, some from back in the 80's even which is pretty cool. If only this place could up it's game with the food, I'd be willing to pay more to enjoy the view and have a family meal here. It seems they've been here a long time and rest on the fact that they will always have regulars and return customers who aren't picky about the very Americanized and dumbed down...

Last night, my fiancee and I, along with our entire wedding party went to Tony's for our rehearsal dinner. The food was great, drinks were good, except that several of our party members did not receive food on time. In fact, by the time we were getting ready to leave, two of the entrees still had not come out (appx 60 minutes post ordering). Normally, this would be the beginning of a negative review.
We went and spoke with Mike, the manager, and explained the situation. He apologized profusely and stated that some of the dishes had been dropped in the kitchen and that had created the initial delay. We made the request that those two entrees be comped and Mike said "No. That's not good enough, you came here for a special occasion and we messed it up." He then insisted on comping the entire thing, down to the last cent. Even when we stated that we were fine paying for the meals we had received, he insisted on comping the entirety of the bill.
That type of customer service is something that stands out. There will be a hundred other opinions on food and the like, but to me this type of customer service stands out above and beyond and turned what could have been a negative into a net positive and verified that we will continue to come back to this location.
Thank you Mike, and thank you to the exceedingly nice staff.
Also, the food...
Read moreWe went to Tony’s Italian Restaurant & Pizzeria in Bremerton on a Saturday evening around 7 pm. There were only two tables of customers having dinner, but we elected to order our food to go. Several people came in to pick up to-go orders while we were there. We waited less than 20 minutes to get our order. There is plenty of room in the restaurant for big and small groups and the view from the back room is amazing.
We got Tony’s Garlic Bread as an appetizer. We added mozzarella cheese to the garlic bread for an extra charge. This is a hoagie bread that is cut in half and spread with garlic butter and covered with mozzarella cheese. There was plenty of cheese on top and it was good, but it would have been better if there were more Italian seasonings on the bread (it was a little bland). We got The Works pizza, and we really liked it. There were plenty of toppings and cheese that were fairly evenly spread over the entire pizza. Like the garlic bread, the pizza would have been better if there were more Italian seasoning. There just seemed to be something missing. But, don’t get me wrong, we enjoyed this pizza and would get it again.
As with most places, there are a mixed bag of reviews on Google. In my opinion, you need to give Tony’s a try for yourself. We were pleased with our pizza, but next time we will definitely eat it in the restaurant. I recommend that you support this...
