I would give a 2.5 review if half stars were possible. I am a native of New Orleans who recently moved up here, and I have a long-standing commitment to Popeyes. While I continue to patronize Popeyes because I love the food, I have noticed--in recent years--a general decline in the quality of customer service at establishments across the country. Sadly, this location is no different.
First, the food, as is typical, was satisfactory. The chicken was flavorful, juicy, and crispy. The cole slaw, fries, and biscuits were typical standard. However, the quality of food was generally eclipsed by the poor service.
When I arrived at the drive through (after dark) the sign at the typical orderboard/intercomm was unlit and had a traffic cone in front of it. I presumed this meant that it was not in service, and passed it to take my place in line behind the other cars. When I arrive at the window, the associate was very rude and rather than empathize with the misunderstanding or attempt to explain, she insisted I needed to go back around and order at the board. So, after having waited 7 minutes to get to the window to begin with, I am now sent to the back of the line again. I order as demanded, and it takes another 7 or so minutes to get back to the service window. When I get to the window, I wait for nearly 5 minutes before she opens the window to receive my payment. Then, another 5 minutes later, she asks me to pull up and park in the front to wait for them to bring my order out (which I do, and wait another 7 or so minutes before receiving my order).
What baffled me was that if this was going to be the result in the first place, why couldn't she have taken 30 seconds to take my order and payment the first time I was at the window and then have me park in the front to wait? It would have saved me 15-20 minutes. She was generally quite rude and dismissive: as if my presence was an unwanted inconvenience. When I finally get home, my order is missing the sauces I requested and was short a biscuit. I had to go without a biscuit so one of my kids could have one.
So, yeah, I may give this establishment one more chance sometime in the future, but not anytime soon. From the looks of other reviews, this isn't an...
Read moreI have never left a 1 star review for a restaurant, until now. I work as a delivery driver for Uber Eats. When I got to the restaurant, it was 9:30pm. They had thirty minutes until their close time on their website. When I got to the front door, I made eye contact with one of the workers and they completely ignored me. I thought “fine, I’ll go through the drive-through then” (most restaurant workers I’ve encountered are much nicer to delivery drivers if they see them at the front doors when they are locked). When I got up to the window, the lady completely ignored me for a few minutes until I called the restaurant to get her attention. She completely ignored the call and sent me to voicemail. I then proceeded to call her again as I didn’t appreciate the silent treatment she was giving me. She slowly turned around, and glared at me as she looked me dead in the eyes and said “we’re closed.” I explained to her that the website says they close at 10pm and that I am just a delivery driver there to pick up food that was literally SITTING ON THE COUNTER right next to her. $46 worth of food, down the drain. She continued to glare at me and said the same thing again. I would never treat a customer this way - she didn’t even have the decency to apologize to me for the inconvenience of attempting to get her attention. It was terrible service. All she had to do was say, “I’m sorry, we’re closed. You should cancel the order” but she ignored me and glared at me for having the audacity to try to get her attention. It was by far the worst customer service I have ever experienced at...
Read moreI walked in shortly after 1pm. I walked into hearing an older woman with a headset lecturing her two back line employees about standing around. I think this conversation should've been better had behind closed doors. The two men in the back listened and then disappeared to the back and started playing loud music. I ordered a blackened spicy chicken sandwich and had to wait about 5 minutes before the woman shouted my order to the back, where one of the two men finally emerged and slowly put together my order. It was during this time the lady, sour looking in the face and grumbling under her breath about her job, acknowledged me, asked if I had received a cup for my combo meal, and gave me one after I replied that I hadn't. I went to the soda fountain and got strawberry soda. It was out. I announced it to the young man in the front, who took my order. He didn't appear to understand me. I dined in. The dining room looked uncleaned and I found it difficult to find a spot to sit down. Nearby, a flatscreen t.v. looked broken as it was pulled off the wall and resting on one of the booths of the table. The chicken on my chicken sandwich was burnt and the Cajun fries I got with it were warm at best. By the time I had left, the strawberry soda had not been changed. Maybe it was, but nobody had come out and told me that it had been.
None of the employees at this restaurant appeared as if they wanted to really do their job and dutifully accommodate any of the customers that came in,...
