Sip and Scoop California in Brentwood is a decent spot for a sweet treat, but it doesn't quite hit a home run. They have a cute setup with both indoor seating and a shaded outdoor patio, which is perfect for a sunny afternoon. It was pretty busy when I went on a Saturday, but the line moved quickly.

One interesting thing about Sip and Scoop is that you get to taste test the ice creams before you order. There's a separate counter for ordering after you make your flavor selections. They offer a wide variety of options beyond just ice cream scoops, including floats, frosties, sundaes, waffles, toast, and even light snacks. It's definitely more than your typical ice cream shop.

The service was friendly and fast. I couldn't quite place one of the flavors, and the staff were happy to let me try it again, which I appreciated. I ended up getting a root beer float with vanilla chocolate chip oat milk ice cream. It was a good portion size, with a generous amount of ice cream in the float itself. However, the ice cream flavor itself was a bit on the mild side. My friend tried the birthday cake and cherry flavors, and they both had a similar lack of punch.

Overall, Sip and Scoop California gets 3 stars from me. It's a fun spot with a good variety of options, but the ice cream flavors themselves could be a bit...

Tasted it for the first time! They had a truck stand at the Oakley farmers market! It was a hot day so it was perfect timing and really wanted something cold. It tasted real good! The size of the cup of this drink was surprisingly bigger than normal. The prize was not too bad either! I Will visit the actual store one of these days! Loving our local small businesses!

Update: 2020

Cute little cafe that serves drinks from coffee, to tea, hot cocoa, to lemonade. They serve sundae's, desserts, waffles and different kinds of toast. First time ever coming here at their shop and yes they are open during COVID. They are practicing social distancing. No seating inside. You can only order for take out.

The staff were pretty cool. There wasn't a line when I came by. I ordered the toast with Nutella topped with bananas. Hot cocoa came right away but it took a while for my toast to come. A bit too long just for a toast I say. But, when it came it tasted real good. Banana and Nutella really go good together.

Not much more to say, not much going on around the area. Oh there's street parking which is cool. This is located in downtown Brentwood, in case you...

Consider it an ā€œupscale ice cream shop!ā€ Has a small selection of ice creams and Italian ice and an even smaller selection of bakery goods. Small selection of toppings and coffee type drinks. Few tables inside to sit and only 2 more outside. Parking is street parking and you need to take one as soon as you see it available. The wait is insanely long! Over $4 for a tiny ā€œminiā€ cup of Italian ice (about one large scoop) and that was all we ordered. It took 15+ minutes to get it. There was only 1 person in line ahead of us and the inside tables were full as well as 1 of the 2 outside tables so we took the last outside one available. The music inside was so loud, I could barely hear my name and if I was standing outside (like the person at the 2nd outdoor table) I would not have heard my name being called. 3 employees working, one taking orders and when nobody was in line didn’t do much of anything. 1 getting orders and the 3rd filling an ice machine? For me to wait for one scoop of Italian ice that cost almost $5! You decide if this is a...

I was not impressed. Apparently the workers do not know what a scoop looks like. My Oreo cookie ice cream just looked like a small blob. Ordered chocolate peanut butter cup 1 scoop, strawberry cheesecake 2 scoops (which they mixed up) and 2 cake cones 2 scoop. My 2nd scoop was not the size of any scoop I have seen.. and the coned ice creams looked more like a 1 scoop. Ice cream in the middle of the cake cone is not a scoop. The workers just didn’t care…. Not to mention the workers are not very inviting. Especially the girl working with a maroonish color hair. Very rude!!! I do not recommend this place..
