La Fuente Mexican Restaurant & Blue Iguana Bar — Restaurant in Brentwood

I want to share my experience from yesterday, 5/5/22. I placed my “future” order through Door Dash. First available time was 6:00pm. My order was accepted and estimated time of arrival was 6:10-6:20. My dasher contacted me at 6:15 to tell me the restaurant did not have my order and I should call them. When I spoke to the counter person she told me the order had been canceled because they had shut off door dash ahead of time knowing that Cinco de Mayo was going to be busy. While I’m speaking to her I received a cancellation text from them. I explained I knew it would be busy and that is why I had placed my order in advance. And now it’s nearly 6:30, my guests are arriving and I have no food. Asked if they could honor this order since the order had been accepted. She apologized and said there was nothing she could do. I then asked for the manager. I learned later she was the owner. Explained the situation and she gave me the same message. We turned off DD because we knew it was going to be busy. Apparently it was not off because I was able to book. I asked if we could pick up the order and she said they are not accepting any takeout orders. I understand they tried to turn off DD and it may very well had been a door dash issue but i felt they would have resolved this one issue considering the circumstances. No. They were willing to lose a loyal customer who orders weekly from them because we loved their food. They canceled our order immediately but the refund will take 3-5 business days. Really!!! I won’t be back.

But let me tell you what I did. I went back to DD and ordered the exact same items from El Tarasco Taqueria (my first time) and I’m certainly glad I did. The order was delivered in less than 30 minutes. The food was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING and it was $40 cheaper. I have found my new favorite Mexican food place. Y’all need to give them a try.

The food was good, and we would have enjoyed ourselves more and came back if the employee (owner?) didn't insist we leave. She came to our table 3 times and asked if we need takeout boxes, we smiled politely and thanked her and said no thank you we are ok, continued our conversation. She asked again 2 more times in the span of 10 minutes (we checked the time, we had a little time before picking up our daughter from school) and the third time she came and placed the check on our table. Ok not too out of the ordinary, we decided to pay but didn't know she was asking us to leave until after we were done signing and she stood at our booth staring at us. The restaurant was completely empty (except 2 other tables) and they were not closing. I was so confused and asked her if she needed the table? Does she need to clean the table? (Like What is it?) She just said no no but the restaurant is empty so if you don't need boxes... uhh ok. So, no customers were waiting for our table, they weren't closing, and our bill was paid for. Why were we getting kicked out, it was interesting for sure and makes sense why the restaurant was empty. I'd say this is a first for me. Never have I gone out for drinks with my girlfriends or out with my husband and been forced to end our discussion to leave. Very weird, but we will not...

I had such a bad experience if this restaurant we went there for dinner with my two sisters and we ordered the drinks, but the drinks was really bad. My sister requested if they could change her drink because it was too sweet and the waiter said if you want to order another drink, you have to pay for both and then we said OK can we talk to the manager manager? Kim came and she said the same thing that you have to pay for another drink all we ask them to if they could just make the drink a bit less sweeter the attitude Was so bad of the manager, and then finally our food came and food was terrible cold it looked like they just put tomato sauce instead of enchilada sauce even we told them and then when we went to pay even they didn’t come to our table to take our payment and we want to make a payment And my sister told that we requested it the manager kept on looking at us. She did not even come, but anyway we made the payment the minute we walked out they all three were laughing in the center so I will never ever ever go to this restaurant. Such a bad service a bad food bad service...
