Sora Japanese Restaurant — Restaurant in Brevard

Extremely disappointed in the customer service tonight by Sora. They were busy so we called ahead and put our name on the list. Our name was passed over 8 times and 8 other groups were seated before us even though our name was put down prior. The hostess/owners excuse was once we were finally seated was we are super busy. Not acceptable , instead her response should have been I apologize for going over your name and going out of order.

After we were finally seated after the hostess verbalized her excuse we sat for 18 minutes without being seen by our waitress. Then as we got up to leave and the waitress miraculously came over to take our drink order. We apologized and said this is taking to long and think it’s best to leave, her comment was come back and see us not on a Friday 🤦🏻‍♂️

I would like to add we go here once a week at least and order take out often. Least to say I was extremely disappointed by the staff...

The nicest staff and the most unassuming little hole in the wall! I’d venture to call it ‘quaint.’ We spoke to a group of people - young child, mom, dad, and grandmother (the only local) - who have all been going there for years and consider it their go-to. We were seated at the sushi bar (due to lack of logistical options for a high chair), and - fun fact - that means you get crunch crab salad upon seating. YUM! Even my 2 year old was devouring it. And speaking of her, the sushi staff were so kind and amused as they let her watch them at work. My MIL, FIL, and husband all had teriyaki something (one chicken, one shrimp, one steak) and I had the Pad Thai. The servings were HUGE and each dish was equally tasty. Wow this place is just absolutely beautiful and the food is insane. I noticed pretty quickly in Brevard there aren’t that many vegetarian options and you can pretty much forget about anything vegan… But they have really good vegetable tempura and tofu tempura here. They offer brown and white rice and I highly recommend treating yourself to some plum wine with a meal. It comes out in a tiny little bottle but has a completely saturated plum inside which is like a dessert for your dessert wine. My son loved the spicy crab salad and- of all things I was really impressed with the cleanliness and design aesthetic of the bathrooms. And yes I severely judge a place by the quality of the bathrooms. ;) Not used to seeing that level of overall quality within a mini mall spot but there it is.
