Taco Bell — Restaurant in Brevard

This is a bit longer than normal reviews probably but I just wanted everyone to know all I experienced and why you should not eat here, so please read! You'll be happy u did ;)

This place like all the other "restaurant chains/fast food" places in brevard and pisgah forest are pretty much a gamble to eat at. They are all way understaffed & really dirty. the food always tastes old, isn't cooked right and half the time your order is never right. But it's the only ones nearby so I get it, its "damned if you do damned if you don't." Kind of situation But these simple expectations are certainly not much to ask for. Being its the basic duties of any eating establishment. Ok so what finally got me to make a serious review of these places was when I went to get supper at Taco Bell in Pisgah Forest NC. It may be petty but it shows how lazy people are and just ridiculous I guess. I wanted to try the new nacho Grande box... its huge on the sign outside. But he says "oh we don't do that anymore..." So I say ok let me order the regular nachos and some guacamole on the side...NOW... mind you, this is EXACTLY WHAT COMES ON THE NACHO GRANDE MEAL! I mean come on, just shows how lazy, or lack of work intrest there is, he obviously just didn't want to make it for whatever reason. When I get to the window I see hes the only one there, like literally the only one in the restaurant. So as I'm sitting there, I noticed the bags that lead to the slushie machine were on the nasty ground, beside a nasty mop bucket. Thinking ummm that's pretty gross. So I think I wonder what thier Ratings are...its "supposedly a 94" then as I'm reading the ratings I noticed the drink fountain has ice piled high where they have been dumping drinks all day and nobody's cleaned it. Then even more disgusting.... right there in the window was some metal holder or whatever it is, with some kind of dried food/sauce splattered all over it! So I thought my God I'm not picky but that's just inexcusable. So for the sake of others, I took some pictures to show everyone why you need to proceed with caution when eating at ANY fast food place in this area. This isn't the only place around that I've seen stuff like this, even worse really but this time I got a bit of proof. To top it all off as I'm leaving, I look in the parking lot and there stands 5 to 6 taco bell employees smoking and laughing it up!. Poor dude inside, no wonder he hates his job! I don't have a picture of them outside though because they would have thought I was creeping or something lol but now I wish I had just to show everyone. Anyway I...

I stopped by on Sunday Aug 23rd at 4pm and ordered 2 items at the drive thru.

I drove up to the pick up window and a young man opened the pick up window and greeted me and accepted my money. The young man closed the window and was working taking orders. I noticed that he was adjusting the mask he was wearing so it only covered his mouth not his nose. He continued working the front cash register and the surrounding area. He opened the window to hand me my items on a tray.

I mentioned that I know it is uncomfortable to wear the mask but he needs to cover his nose too. I explained unless you use the mask as it was designed it does not work. He responded back that he would not wear the mask properly to cover his nose. I explained the mask would not work unless he used it properly to cover both his mouth and nose. I sympathized with him and said I know it is hard to wear the masks with glasses on because they fog. He responded back that he does not be-leave in wearing the masks. I asked to talk to the manager and was told he was the manager. I asked for his name and was told he does not give out his name. I told him if he was the manager he needed to give me his name so I could complain about the service. I noticed other employees watching and listening to the conversation. It is important for the employees to know. That it makes no difference if you do not believe in wearing the masks. You wear the to protect the customers and other people in the work space. The young man looked like he was around 23 years old. I thought he was rude and did not care for my or anyone's safety. I am 70 years old with medical issues. I pulled up to the window wearing a mask and gloves to protect the workers. To top it off I ordered two items and was given two wrong items.

I was too upset to return to complain. I never wanted to escalate...

The older lady that runs the drive thru specifically 10/26/24 was making comments the whole time we were there. Walked in 10 mins after placing a mobile order and a few mins roll by multiple people standing inside and she keeps looking over at everyone and finally says “are y’all here for DoorDash, mobile order, or do you need to order” we say mobile order. She doesn’t bother to ask who for so we assume they’ll just place it on the mobile order rack. A few minutes roll by and she makes the comment to her coworkers “I’m surprised people have been so nice today usually people are rude on days like this” she’s referring to being short staffed. 15 more mins roll by and 2 walk ins after us ordered and got their food ate and left. So I ask how much longer on our order. She asks who it’s for and she says we don’t see that order. Finally finds it a couple minutes later and says “y’all aren’t checked in that’s why. You are supposed to check in on the app or tell us when you get here” I wasn’t aware about checking in on the app but confirmed that’s inaccurate because the app tells us to tell you the name on the order when we arrive. And I said to her I told you we had a mobile order and you didn’t bother asking the name on it you just said okay and turned around. A few minutes rolls by and she makes the comment “I take back what I said earlier” her coworkers say “what?” And she says “you know” clearly referring to the customers not being rude comment. We were far from being rude. I never once raised my voice or said anything implying that I was angry. To top it all off they left parts of our meal out. Was hard to pick through everything before leaving because everything was just thrown in the bag chips spilled everywhere...
