Komodo — Restaurant in Brick Township

First time here. Food wasn’t nothing special. The boneless ribs were like burnt chips. Fried rice was ok. I love egg drop soup and this was the worst. Hardly any egg. Beef and broccoli, the broccoli stems were hard. Every place we tried in the area, if it isn’t one thing or another. They aren’t the most consistent cooks. I make homemade half the time.

Update: have since ate here and the food seems better. The quantity and quality is there. For the most part, the dishes we had, soup, etc were very good. One star removed for the sesame chicken. It was more like pork, a little tough and dry, and red like pork is. If the sesame chicken was like I’ve had it or made it, this would be a 5 star review. The hot & sour soup and veggie fried rice, and a shrimp entree were great.

Over the past several weeks, my family and I have been ordering take out from various different establishments in the Brick, New Jersey area because we are are renovating our kitchen and currently have no appliances. With that being said, my Daughter suggested that we try the new Chinese Restaurant, Komodo. What a surprise . . . It was AMAZING! I ordered the Beef & Mixed Vegetables Combination Platter which includes fried rice, egg roll; and choice of small soup or a medium fountain drink for $9.99. The food was EXCELLENT and the portions were so generous that I had left overs for lunch the next day. Be sure to try the Bubble Tea . . . you will not be disappointed. I never do reviews whether good, bad, or indifferent but Komodo is by far the BEST Chinese Restaurant around. The food was AMAZING , the portions are GENEROUS, and the prices are ON POINT. Komodo is my new go to Chinese Restaurant . . . Bye Bye...

I was passing by Brick to visit a friend when I saw Grand opening signs for this restaurant. I was pleasantly surprised to find a joint like this one in Central Jersey! I ordered the BBQ chicken skewers and mango slush. The chicken portion was HUGE!! Also very happy that the chicken was ACTUALLY BBQed instead of BBQ sauce slobbered over my skewers! I have to say I usually don't see this at a Chinese take out restaurant! The chicken chunks were THICK and JUICY. Unlike other restaurants, Komodo cooks the meat to perfection so it is not overly dry or stale. Chicken is lightly coated in BBQ sauce so the chicken is not overpowered. YUM! The mango slush was just the right amount of sugar and ice. New blenders ALWAYS makes the best slushies. =) I can't believe they EVEN have brown sugar bubble milk. The hype is here! Overall a great protein meal for a quick stop! Will stop by for the famous Komodo...
