I bought a gold chain to get repaired. It was a 10 k Franco gold chain . I waited 2 weeks and was told chain was unfixable . So I asked manager if they can appraise valve of chain, since it was unfixable. She replied “ Oh it’s only a 10K Chain so it’s not gonna be worth much”. I replied it’s gold and still worth good money, chain was appraised for $45.00. I drove down the street to Ocean County Gold and diamond buyers and my gold chain was appraised and sold to OCG for $115.00 USD. Went it to look at a ring. The lady behind the counter was quite rude. Was looking to get a custom ring made with black gold and she was clueless about what that was and tried to say it’s not real. It’s the same thing as how rose gold is gold mixed with copper. Plenty of examples out there. Also said they probably wouldn’t work with the stone I wanted.
