502 Baking Company — Restaurant in Brick Township

honestly aside from the staff being super helpful and educated on their food, the pastries are incredible! Considering I live in NY and have been going to great bakeries, I was skeptical but oh man, This bakery satisfied me completely. I've now gone there 6 times and never any issues (one young staff member was in training, but i have patience unlike most). To anyone who left one or two starts complaining about " being to pricey" "dry or hard" PLEASE go elsewhere because to me it sounds as if you're cheap and expect better for what you rather afford which is garbage so may as well just try to bake at home yourselves lol Getting to know Toni and Les over there was exciting because they've told me how they bake and even Toni's history with her family growing up which made me feel more connected to this business. For anyone who needs some education - baking is a technique and not everyone can do so ALSO any establishments with pastries, cakes and breads or even any place like a pizzaria does in fact keep food from the evening before OR make them early in the morning and has them until the evening which can make them seem " not fresh". I will always support this bussiness and stand by them. The ones leaving bad reviews have nothing better to do and need attention or their opinions matter. All others and anyone new, give it a try and go early. You wont be let down. I have to be gluten free which for anything non-gluten tastes different but with them it is delicious ( sometimes i say F&%k it , and just deal with the intestinal pain and swelling) its worth it. I will be going back again taking the 2.5 hour drive to get a few bags ful of mym favorite pastries =) THANK YOU TO 502 Bakery! Stay strong...

My Mother in law was turning 81 during a pandemic. We searched for a bakery near her to deliver a cake. In all of Tom's River we couldn't find one to deliver. Then I found 502 Baking in Brick. They were 15 miles away...but did offer delivery, so I sent them an email. I knew it was a long shot since they were so far away. Well, even though their delivery radius was 5 miles, Les (one of the owners) agreed to deliver a cake to her on her birthday. They took payment over the phone and even included a beautiful candle with the cake. Not only was the customer service of this bakery 5 stars...but the cake looked gorgeous. And according to my Mother in law, absolutely delicious. The delivery made her day! Les delivered it himself and even chatted with my Mother in law when he did....which also made her day. :) Thanks guys for helping us give her a nice birthday! We celebrated via zoom and were all jealous watching her...

This is my new bakery go-to for life! I live in a town where there are not many bakeries nearby, and so I have to drive a good 20 minutes to get to one. I drove to my usual place to have a cake made for my mother in law for her birthday, and it turned out that they were closed. I panicked and searched for whatever was nearby and discovered 502 Baking Company. All I can say is it must've been written in the starts because everything they make is PHENOMENAL! I've never had gluten free treats before and the ones that they make are AMAZING! The cake that I ordered was a vanilla cake with strawberries, whipped cream, and it was decorated beautifully-- the taste was divine! My husband and I both agreed that this was one of the best cakes that we've EVER had! Everyone including my mother in law enjoyed it very much.
