We were in the area yesterday for a medical thing at UPenn Radnor. We decided to explore following the appointment. We love supporting local and not big box places when we travel. So glad we found Fat Boys. Since we're here every couple of months now, we decided that we will definately be returning the next time we are in the area. The chicken cheesesteak was amazing. Bonus for me, we bought some frozen items that held up great in our cooler on the couple hour drive home. Which made dinner making so much better for me last night after resting. My favorite men loved the cheesesteak perogis and the eggplant gravy was so close to my mother in laws. The gravy brought back some great memories of dinner with Mom. GET A SANDWICH HERE ASAP! I had the best Italian hoagie I’ve had in YEARS at Fat Boys. And coming from an Italian girl born and raised in New Jersey, that says a lot. Not only was the sandwich perfection (only complaint was that it wasn’t cut down the middle and was kind of like a taco, you know, Wawa style —is it a PA thing?) but one of the owners came out from behind the counter to talk to me and my partner for a bit…ask us where we’re from, where we’re going (he knew right away we were our way to the climbing gym nearby), and talk about the family business, the neighborhood, the local vendors they source most of their stuff from, etc. Everything was lovely. This place proves you don't need a ton of square footage to put out a superior food product; just some heat, the right ingredients and a lot of love.

Had the Fat Boy's Cheesesteak Hoagie and it's been a while since a Cheesesteak has moved me. Did take-out and after a 15 minute travel, the Cheesesteak was still perfect. The roll was seeded, fresh and not soggy with nice elasticity. The beef was seasoned to perfection and juicy without dripping everywhere. We paired it with Cooper Sharp, which was a nice change.
