I hate to leave a negative review but the food from here was unfortunately super disappointing. I got the Black Rock Cobb salad and asked for no egg which was correct when I got my order but they forgot the bacon. And I knew the salad was going to be mediocre the second I opened the container. There were huge slices of tomato like what you’d put on a sandwich…chopping them up smaller for a salad would make sense & wouldn’t be that much extra effort. The chicken looked bland & unseasoned and it was. It was also very dry. The dressing was the only good part of the salad, otherwise it was terrible. And to charge $20 for that salad is wild. My boyfriend got the Sunday at Carmela’s entree & he thought it was okay but there was nothing special about it. The sauce wasn’t flavorful at all. And we had fries which were the best part of the meal but still just kinda mid. I know it’s a pizza restaurant & we didn’t have the pizza, so hopefully the pizza is better.

Great stop with the family coming home from vacation and just needed a quick bite. The Fire House fries are killer. The Mozzarella sticks aren't sticks. Probably the only complaint is that you get 4 for $12.00 and they are a circle. Best BBQ Chicken Pizza we've ever had. The waitress was nice, but answered with a quick Yep everytime which made it seem like she was irritated to wait on us. A chocolate milk, 2 sprites, 1 water, and a Cranberry juice isn't too much to ask for. She was nice though soaybe that's just how she is. The food is phenomenal and the man that owns it is a local. One thing my wife and I always try to do is support your local small business.

More than just pizza! We had the steak tips, pork belly cheesy garlic bread, margarita mozzarella pizza , and buffalo chicken pizza. If you like thin, fire cooked pizza, this is the best place to go. The crust was not a charcoal mess like some places, but the crust was crispy. The steak tip were tender and the pork belly was delish! Hot sauce is hot and spicy as was the steak tip sauce, but that is on the side. Atmosphere was nice, and with summer coming on, there is seating outside and the front doors open to the patio so you can watch the craziness of black rock pass by. Definitely a foodie location to visit. Parking is street, but doesn't cost anything.

Service: 1 star Pizza: 1.5 star

First of all, it is heresy to compare this to any respectable pizza destinations, (as one yelper did) for ex: Frank pepe's in new haven, Roberta's & motorino in Brooklyn, Fireflour in North Dakota, etc.

This is how I got to this place, I looked up places along the I-95 that are open past midnight, and find this pizza joint, and according to some reviews it's as good if not better than pepe's, or Sally's, so I was intrigued.

So here is my experience: I walked in on a packed bar, on a Sunday night, and after looking around for a few, I found an empty spot at the bar, and because I came for the pizza, and they told me over the phone that their kitchen is closing @12:30 AM - it was 12:25 AM - I wanted to get my order in ASAP, but it was quite difficult to get the bartenders attention, it took some standing up, walking around a few times to finally get my order in... I ordered the "mashed potato pizza" well done, - according to some that's the pizza to get - the pizza came out, not well done, and missing one of the ingredients, so here is my review on the pizza:

There are four categories I judge pizza by: The flavor of the dough, The quality of the crust, the toppings, and the balance of it.

Dough Flavor: 0 stars. I couldn't fathom how someone would consider this pizza dough, it had about as much flavor as a piece of cardboard.

The Crust: 1 stars. No crisp, no crunch, no char. I Specifically requested well done, but apparently they decided to ignore my request, but still none of the qualities one would expect from any pie.

The Toppings: 2 stars. All the toppings felt like out of a can, or microwaved, besides the scallions that they ironically forgot, and had to ask for it separately... And the mashed potatoes!! What about the mashed potatoes should get me excited?? I wonder if the people who wrote raving reviews on how amazing this pizza is, even realized that the potatoes had no flavor what so ever! even the slightest of salt or oil flavor.... (I mean writing a review while high is fine with me, just put a disclaimer up)

balance of toppings: 2.5 star they did not add some really interesting toppings, that I had to judge how it fares, but it minimum made sense, it wasn't world class, or really good, it was definitely below average, but I had worse.

Bottom line: If you are looking for gourmet pizza, or to try a new style; keep looking! you won't find it here... If you are looking for an average pizza; keep looking! You also won't find it here! domino's, little Caesars, are imo much better, and have better service...

Disclaimer: I was there with a friend, and we both had the same opinion about this place, I know my review was a bit harsh, but it had to be written, so others shouldn't fall...

I went for the first time about a 2-3 months ago. Our server an older white lady only came to our table about 3x the whole experience. The last time she came we had ordered a desert which was advertised as a chocolate lava cake, when we got it, it was a regular chocolate cake. I told her I didn’t like it and she snatched it and left without saying a word and then brought us our check which had 20% gratuity already added, which was weird because it was only 3 of us but I didn’t bother to ask, I was going to give her a tip that matched her lousy service but it didn’t seem worth the hassle. I went again last night and our server a younger lady was kind but didn’t bring us cups for the water until we asked. We had already been there for more than 20 minutes. She apologized so that was okay , and she only checked on our table til the very end. Don’t get me wrong I love the food but the service needs to get better. I would not dine in again. I also asked her if they always added gratuity and she said no. Only for parties 6+ which was disappointing to hear considering last time it was already included in the check. So I’m not sure if the older white lady did it because she knew she would get a Lousy tip for her awful service . I also wanted to add the hostess when I first went was very kind and provided a better service then the server. I hope she gets a tip out, we are in the service industry so we except at least common decent service but this place...

I went with family, and the company I accompanied, consisted of people who knew me by my first name and a woman who knew me mostly by my middle. Seen a side of me that was missing for a long time. You can't create a good memories with family without good food and if your family chooses to go out to do that, you go here. The staff seemed to step it up as it would turned out that my cousins man was a avid customer. After reviewing the menu I could see that neither I nor my girlfriend would eat here unless a review from an average person like me convinced me otherwise, and let me tell ya buddy the Carmine's eggplant is excellent. I had my Salmon, an assortment of pizza and hot wings that were a bit better than average. From some of the comments I've read I see that they're like all restaurants. I hate to see this restaurant fail because the establishment caters to wealthy regulars with a great restaurant experience. The cook is the most important aspect of any restaurant and the guy nailed it, the staff was friendly and helpful. Our waitress leveraged her up-sell strategies a bit much for my taste but dammit if anyone's is going to eat here and the experience and atmosphere is as memorable as I experienced at every table, the most modest of income individuals should and would accommodate to the price. Which should also include a pretty hefty tip, and to those people I...
