My family wanted to celebrate my mom’s birthday and we heard great things about this brew hall in Fairfield. We live in Wilton, so it’s a 30-45 minute drive with the 95 usually getting backed up in the stretch past the SoNo. We get there and realize the sheer size of this place is HUGE. It’s like a whole facility of brews, burgers, and fun that has multiple sections: private booths and tables lining the main area, a semi-private speakeasy bar over in the right, a food kiosk, and a huge patio section in the back.

We happened to come at a lucky time, because there was a circus food truck performing in the back that featured a long trampoline with stunts and beer related balancing acts. They were phenomenal! I recommend that EBC books these guys again, because they were funny and entertaining. The facility features a wide array of games like cornhole, shuffleboarding, and even pinball to keep you busy when waiting on food or drink orders. They also featured a live band that evening that played classic covers and everyone was singing along!

Speaking of food and drinks, they have a great selection of appetizers like wings, tacos, and our favorite: the loaded tots! The burgers and chicken sandwiches are also juicy, and seasoned quite well while piled high with toppings. The only nitpick is that the food selection is limited and mainly revolves around bar food, yet I’d order that anyway and it was tasty at that! EBC has a diverse tap selection of brewed drinks and local options ranging from lagers to ciders to IPAs. They have over 30 choices so you can always try something new and also offer flights to try different ones if you can’t decide. My favorite was the Pumking! They also have a massive selection of 25+ whiskeys if you’re into that. The general crowd are couples ranging from 20s-50s to families. On the weekends expect a lot of college kids from Fairfield U and Sacred Heart who will get there starting 9:30, so order drinks before the surge. My disabled veteran uncle and my family were kicked out after being accused of others petting his service dog. First of all, no one was. She was laid under his seat the entire time they were there. Plus, she knows how to act when in certain places and at certain times. Even if people other than my uncle try to touch her, she is trained not to give into them. Second, it is completely legal to let other people touch a service dog, yet it is not encouraged because of how it can distract the dog from their work. My family went through the rules with the owner on how the only reason they could get kicked out is if the dog was using the bathroom on the floor, or if they were acting like a complete maniac and running around. The bouncer and owner clearly weren’t thinking twice about our rights because after TWO HOURS of the dog laid in the same spot, nothing occurred up until a new bouncer noticed and tried to take action. Even after explaining to the owner, we were once again asked to leave, for she claimed to know her rights and the law. But after speaking with her, she was proved to be wrong. Connecticut is a one party consent state when recording, in which the manager claimed that we could not voice record her. Wrong again. In conclusion, this incident had caused a significant amount of emotional distress to our entire party.
