Was there today for the first time and was not impressed at all!! We got the chicken tenders as the appetizer which tasted like Burger King chicken tenders no difference, then the ranch literally had no taste at all almost tasted like a Mayo not really sure what was going on there then the actual food comes out I got the lasagna it was Grandma l's lasagna Grandma needs to learn to season something because it had no taste no flavor at all! And then my boyfriend got the shrimp dinner which came with a whopping five pieces of deep fried shrimp and fries that had been soaking in grease for days it seemed like he was also thrown a couple scraggles of onion rings on his plate that he didn't even order the only thing that was good in that restaurant was the sweet tea. Then we go up front to pay and they asked how it was and I replied not good told them everything that was wrong my concerns there wasn't even an apology they just took the money and put their nose up like most bitchport I mean bridgeport people would do will not be back to this establishment they just need...
Read moreIt was my first time at the iconic Twin Oaks. It did not disappoint. The bathroom was immaculately clean! Even the stainless toilet paper holder and door handle were spotless...
When we arrived, we were told to sit "on either side" wherever we wanted. The left side was full, so we found a "cubby" area that felt private. They play music and because it is carpeted, uses cloth table covers, and has lots of trim details on the walls and room dviders, there isn'tan annoying echo... We did wait for seeeeeeral minutes before our waitress acknowledged us, but she was friendly and on it onc she made it to us...
We tried spaghetti, raviolis, and rigatoni... They each came with a side salad (add the cheese!) and itlian bread with butter. I thought the sauce was perfect, but my sister thought it was "bland." She added salt and liked it better.
I also posted pics of their drink prices - very reasonable compared to other dine-in restaurants in the area :) I am a fan of...
Read moreI don't even know if I could give this place one star, because we were not even allowed in the door. I recently was in Bridgeport for a volleyball tournament. There were 17 of us in our dining party and when our coach called Twin Oaks to see if they could accommodate us, she was told in no uncertain terms: "We don't want you here". Not "sorry, we can't accommodate a party that size" or "could you possibly break up into a few smaller parties". The person who answered the phone that night (Friday, October 4 around 6:00 p.m.) flat out told her "We don't want you here". So I'd love to say that Twin Oaks was a great restaurant with great service, but since they didn't want us there, they lost well over $500 in sales, as well as a great tip. Oliverio's ended up getting our business, our appreciation and a nice, fat tip to boot!!
By the way, not only did I leave this review here, but I also blogged about it....
