A nice surprise. The staff are nice and polite. The first impression was authenticity. We walked inside to a small organised Mexican store. Because, why not. I love this! As we entered the restaurant, the smell of the food cooking put me such a happy place. (It's very weird to go in a restaurant and not smell food being cooked). Not only that, I told my husband, I think this food is gonna be good, based on the smell alone. š I came for the barrira tacos and was very satisfied. Prices are good, portion size a great value added benefit. (I always order the same dish when we go out to eat) and decided on trying the (new to me) trending food barrira. A seasoned brisket taco with a white mozzarella (probably was not mozzarella but was similar in texture) in a corn torilla shell that had been seared with cilantro and onion and mexican cheese crumbles (i dnt know the name of it) served with the brisket juices to dip it in. Please go and try this dish. The rice, no other spot ive been to has served THIS rice. Its not the tomato based rice either. Its not the typical mexican rice. This rice was savory GOOD! The flavors, omg! Nothing like anything I have ever tasted before. I took it even further and ordered the Elote. Another banger! Never tasted anything like it. It was a party in my tummy. And I had left overs. The food was hot and fresh. I appreciate the meal La Guadalupana Antojio's Mexican Restaurant. My husband ordered the steak chimichanga and it was a big ol' burrito. The steak was well seasoned, it came with the same GOOD rice. He enjoyed it. The portion was so big he couldn't finish it. The waitress thought maybe he didn't like it, but he did. He did ma'am if your reading this. Shout out to the chefs in the kitchen, you guys are awesome and I'm happy to have found this place. I appreciate you bringing authentic food to such a place. We...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreLa Guadalupana isn't much to look at from outside, and when you open the door, it looks like you've entered a small Mexican store. But to the left is a clean and welcoming dining room, with friendly staff who will seat you, take your order, and quickly bring you delicious food. I had the Boss Parrillada, a pile of bite-sized grilled meats (beef, chicken, chorizo) and vegetables (bell and jalapeno peppers, onions, nopales), with sides of rice (plain, not the fluffy red 'Spanish' rice you'll often get) and black beans. It was delicious, with crispy grilled smokiness and a medium amount of heat. My wife's tilapia tacos were fresh and delicious as well, and both were served with warm, wonderfully flavorful corn tortillas. We each had more than enough to eat, and had a second meal of leftovers, at a very reasonable price. I've been stopping at different Mexican restaurant nearby when I drive home from business trips to Kentucky. I've got a new...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreStarting off, it's more of a hidden gem/hole-in-the-wall. They give you huge portions for great prices and complimentary chips and salsa on top of that. There's an overwhelming amount of options to choose from, so it might take you a while to decide. Luckily, the staff are friendly and patient.
I got the Grill Chimichanga and my girlfriend got the Molcajete. Our server cautioned us that the latter was big, like "two plates" big. However, it could easily feed 3-4 people. For $25, the amount of food you get is insane. In total, we got enough food for like 5-6 people for $55. Everything had so much flavor as well. I definitely wanna come back to try more!
The only negatives were that we had to ask for silverware and napkins, but it's understandable considering a sizable amount of the menu is...
