My son graduated (with Honors!) from UofM and the family wanted to meet beforehand for lunch. We looked at some nice options that we've been to for dinner but their lunch menus were a little lacking, so I looked around online and found the Sidecar Slider Bar. The menu looked really good, but I was a little concerned that our party of between 9 and 12 people wouldn't fit. The pictures do not quite do it justice. It's much larger in person than it looks to be in the photos. Plus, they had a back room for larger parties, which is where we ended up. 3 points of interest: first, the menu is perfect. There is food that will suit any taste from peanut butter and jelly to a more upscale ahi tuna, and everything we tried from the appetizers to the main courses, was simply to die for! We ended up only having nine people and everyone loved their meal! Second, The wait staff was extremely helpful, friendly, and fast. You never had to wait around for extra drinks or water, and I actually wasn't certain are server was, because we had four people helping us out and making sure we were taken care of. Lastly, portions sizes are perfect and the price points, well, to be honest, on the low side! Each meal is only from between $5.50 and $7.50! It was so low that many of us ordered two meals and still walked out of there for less than it would take to drive through at McDonald's!! My final comment would be to encourage you to visit this hidden gem. When I called the day before to see if they took reservations (they don't), I was told that during the pink rush hour there shouldn't be any problem fitting us in when we walked in. In my opinion this place should be packed to the gills with a waiting line! Go and find out...
Read moreI hate leaving bad reviews. I will say tho, this deserves it. We came on a date night here and we're excited to try somewhere new. We sat at the bar in a booth and it took forever for the waitress to even get a drink order for the 2 of us. After she came over, we were ready to order our meal. We ordered and it took another 10 minutes to get the drinks we ordered. Not to much after that the appetizer came out which was very good. Waiting waiting waiting and never got our food. We finally asked if she could check on it and she came back and said the order never go to the back. Talk about unsatisfied. She did not end up charging us for our food or drink but we did leave money on the table. She says as we are leaving sorry about that hopefully you come and try again. We'll we did and disappointment again. The food was good except if you have kids do not get the chili dog because the chili was so spicy my son couldn't even eat it. He ended up eating one of my sliders I got. We ordered a large basket of fries and honestly it was barely big enough for 2 people. We are a family of 5. 9 dollars for this large basket of fries was a bit much in my opinion. Asking the waitress about the chili she replies with I'm sorry I didn't know. Please train your staff because my son couldn't eat his dinner. Not looking for money off but they didn't even offer to take it off the bill when he didn't eat it. Not to mention my husband got the wrong slider. Like I said food is pretty good. Staff needs to be trained more/better and...
Read moreThis place was absolutely delicious. I don’t know what I was expecting but this surpassed my expectations. Each slider was $5-$8. I personally had the breakfast slider and Cesar slider. I would 100% order the breakfast again. The Cesar was good but I ate it after the breakfast so i think that went against it. My daughter had the salmon slider and absolutely devoured it. My husband had the ripper and said it was exactly as described but he was hoping for something special which this lacked. He would order it again. He also had the smokehouse slider which he really enjoyed. The French fries were some of the best we’ve had in a long time! We also ordered the pretzel bites, which were so delicious we had to order another order. The perogis were very good too. The only lackluster food were the wings. The original weren’t tossed in the sauce and not spice at all. The Nashville hot were more like regular hot.
The kids also loved the little arcade. Their favorite game was one where you pulled a lever up and pushed down to earn miles. After earning a certain amount of miles they won a snack. If we lived in the area we would...
