Stopped in on a Monday night after Livingston County Firefighter Training Academy Ceremony. It was around 8:30 PM and a group of us stopped in to celebrate afterwards and get some much needed food. Took 45 minutes just to get water to the table, and 55 until I was told the coffee machine was broke ? Ok, I like to think I have patience and it's not the waitress fault so I go with water like most others. I only stated I would be upset with her if she was the one that broke it :) . We could all tell this girl was new and we have all been the deer in headlights at one job or another. She was polite as could be and doing her best. So we ordered our food finally and waited.
She had come to the table about 3 times stating the food was coming right up. I ordered a pizza, so I know it will be a few minutes anyway. 2 burgers, and a salmon wrap. Another hour goes by and I finally state if it's not coming out I need to get us moving so we can eat as we still had a good drive home and would like to get moving. We were there 2 hours and food finally arrived after explaining we needed to go.
All but my wife's wrap. At this point we were on the roof, and mind you we were wet from the rain at the ceremony. No fault of there's, however were now cold wet and been waiting for hours for food. We asked for a few box's as we were leaving and the wife still had not received her wrap (Something I feel is most easy to put together)
She came with the boxes and kept apologizing about the wait and she knew it was wrong. She stated she talked to the manager a couple times and they were aware, however there was nothing she could do. I explained to her I never asked to have anything off the bill, as we just wanted to eat at that point we were all in agreeance it was time to go.
Again she stated the manager knows but there is nothing she can do. She was as nice as could be, and could tell it bothered her. No fault at all on this newer server, she did her best. I explained to have a manager should have come up and explain what the issue was, or at least apologize. That is the managers job. We had 19 people show up, and I know that's quite a few all at once. However the first table of us have ate at this point and were leaving before we were ever served.
Part that bothered me is just tell me it's going to be 2 hours to get anything to the table and let me make my own decision. I would have passed this time and maybe tried them again later some time. And to have the manager be a no show for the new girl was just bad business.
The food was ok after getting home to eat it, and I tipped as I always do. The girl did her best. However I can't speak to the manager as they couldn't even take time to speak with us knowing there was an issue that lasted hours.
Won't be back needless to say, and I feel bad as I also have a local business and we are trying to do as much local business as we can in these Covid lockdown days.
Outside the wait the staff seem friendly and did what they could. Although the food was cold when we ate it, it seemed ok. (Sure it was better hot?) I just feel communication on something that's going to take them hours is nice to have to make a decision. If I planned to hang out for a few hours it may have been different, but 2 hours is still too long for food.
Just my 2 cents... Hope your experience goes better. I hate leaving a negative review and normally never do, but I hope it helps them realize what is happening and they have a chance...
Read moreI came here this evening for the first time and was very disappointed in not only the food, and the environment, but the service. Our waitress was barely even there. She’d show up and then disappear for THE longest time. Refills took forever. She was just never around. And they were NOT understaffed. They had plenty of people, for upstairs and downstairs, no need to have been ignored for however long for a simple refill. Downstairs wasn’t even that full when we were there. Our food was sub-par, if even that. My 1/2lb burger was charred to heck and back, flavorless, not even cooked how I wanted it, barely had the cheese on it. It was a huge patty with a small piece of cheese? Didn’t even cover the patty. My fries were COLD and bland. My husband’s burger was charred more than mine he couldn’t even finish it. His sweet potato fries were cold as well. The environment was so loud. Music was blaring and I couldn’t hear my husband who was across the table from me. I had to yell to be heard. And I’ll say this now. Seeing the owner’s response to the one review that was written 2 weeks ago: how disgusting. Not even a “please call and discuss with me your problem,” but a URL link saying how “patrons need to be patient with restaurants.” The reviewer even said this was not their first experience at this restaurant and it hasn’t been good either time, before COVID as well. It was very arrogant and even pretentious to assume that this person walked into this restaurant with a bad attitude. I read that article and it’s ridiculous. One of the many, if not top reasons I will not come back and support this restaurant. You assume the customer wanted a bad experience? Give me a break. The only thing I could compliment this place on was their pretzel knot appetizer with the cheese dip. That is all.
Edit If you notice, the response of a link from the owner to other negative reviews seems to not be here at present. Well. That’s because the owner has removed them! It was quite silly looking of them to not only respond to PAYING customers in this way, but to then delete said response. Don’t worry, though. I do have have their response saved on my phone! Still will not come back. Even after seeing them reply to customers in this way and then proceed to delete it once it’s been pointed out. Come on,...
Read moreI've never given a 1 star review, so trust that this experience at the Pound made sure I never go back. We went last week with a large party and sat at 2 tables, which wasn't a problem as we were some of the only people sitting downstairs. Our waitress was friendly but either new or clueless. Our drink order went in fine, but that's where things went downhill. We waited probably 15 minutes to put in our food, which was fine, but still quite a while. The other table did not have their food order taken (for over half an hour!) and I had to flag down the waitress to point this out. Once our food came out, we had to re-flag down the waitress for silverware and napkins. The food was lackluster (except the chicken bbq pizza, that was actually great!). Two friends ordered chicken tenders and they were so overbaked and overbreaded that they were basically inedible. Since the service had been so poor, one friend decided to just keep eating, while the other told the waitress and asked if she could get something else, which was a no, or speak to the manager, which she was told would happen. Spoiler, we were there for 2.5 hours and that didn't happen. Anyway, after dinner we were ready to go and asked for the checks. 15 minutes passed with no communication from the waitress, until she eventually came back and said our orders had gone in wrong and she needed to know who ordered what to make our checks. No worries, that happens. From that point, it took another 20+ minutes and half of the checks she brought back were incorrect, overcharging for things like extra onion when someone actually ordered light onion and for drinks people did not get. We were stuck there for another 15 minutes while she tried to rectify these mistakes, and things still ended up wrong. One friend persisted in getting a drink removed from her bill and asked to see the manager, but again, no such luck with the manager. Anyway, after 2.5 hours of subpar service and food, this is a good reminder that there are other restaurants to visit downtown. We've had similar experiences in the past here but always want to give the benefit of the doubt (bad day, computers haywire, etc), but now we...
