Subway — Restaurant in Brighton

Didn’t even have the opportunity to get food. I came in at quarter after 9pm (supposably open until 9:30pm) 12/8/23 and was promptly told they were closed. I said to the clerk “I thought you closed at 9:30” the reply was “yeah we were slow so I put all the food away”. Young girl with both AirPods in both ears. When I asked her how her district manager would feel about knowing they were refusing service during operating hours she was dumbfounded and promptly said “ well I guess I’ll go get it out and make your food”. I was already over it. Anyone who runs a business knows this is not standard operating procedure. Close whenever you want to, but do not advertise hours that you’re not REALLY serving customers. When I asked for her name she flatly refused. No name tag. No wonder subway is hurting, they turn away business to paying customers. I know I won’t be back. Absolutely horrible service. Lady had her ear buds in the entire time, didn't seem to happy that I was there as they opened. Go to pay. And instead of telling me when I first arrived that the card machine wasn't working and could only take cash, she asked of i could pay in cash, and I explained that I didn't have any. I will give her credit for trying to get ahold of her boss (they did not answer). But, then again give me attitude and asks again for me to pay in cash. Literally open my wallet to show her I have NO CASH!!! She said she couldn't help me.

I told her she should have told me when i walked in for service, Or should write off the product and given it to me. She just through her hands in the air and said well I can't get ahold of my boss.

I used to work for Subway, and they have outlines on what to do in situations to make the customer happy.

Both girls working were very rude and didn’t seem like they even wanted to work. We went in with very simple easy sandwiches and they were extremely rude about it. They wouldn’t take one sandwich order at a time. Then a gentleman after us had several questions and the girl helping him was very rude. One of the girls had red hair and one was wearing extremely long pink nails that she couldn’t even barley make the sandwich. The minute we said we didn’t order online the attitude changed.
