Recently hit A&S as they've always been consistent but noticed some changes. I'll focus on my positives first. Inside was clean and had that original pizza place charm with randoms chatting up the pizza guy, Phillies highlights playing on the tv, etc.

🍽️The staff and service was great, the woman got our order in quickly and food started making its way to our table within about 5-10mins.

🍕🍕Pizza was on point and tasted great! Sandwiches and fries were piping hot and delicious. 🥖Not sure if the family sold the establishment recently however I noticed similarly to my Pizza Star visit that the bread rolls and French fries have changed. The taste and quality for me impact the consistency I've been used to. The roll does not hold up too well, it's soft and doesn't have that "crusty/flaky" texture of a Philly roll. The softer roll feels cheap. 🍟As for the fries the first difference is the change to a crinkle cut. Not a big deal for me. And the fries were served hot and fresh-great! But I'm not sure if it's a brand thing but the taste of them I noticed similarly to pizza star and they just don't have me wanting to crush the whole plate or bag like the ones y'all had before.

I've been accustomed to getting meals here for decades because of the consistency so these details for me may seem small but also make my experience the highest it can be.

I look forward to trying these new Long Hots y'all have next time as they looked...

Got a large chicken parm pizza. This thing is loaded with sauce. It kind of slides off when you're grabbing a slice. It had some decent flavor but I think there's better. The cheese was pretty good. The dough tasted fresh. The bottom was nicely toasted. There wasn't a lot of chicken and it's bite sized chunks. Chicken was pretty average, just plain protein. 6/10 for not being a converted plain pizza. Also tried a slice of personal plain. Seemed like it was thicker than the large pie. Tasted decent but thin and crispy is the move. The dough was soft in the middle and had a nice toast on the bottom. 6/10. Bet the large pie would perform better. BONUS Hawaiian pizza review. This was a medium pie. Honestly pretty good. Ham is a good addition and pineapple adds a nice sweet flavor. The ricotta adds a nice creamy texture. Ricotta is also high in protein so it's a good topping. Ham could've had a better distribution but overall it's a good pie. 7/10. Fresher ricotta globs and high quality ham and this could be in the 8 or 9s. Need some Prosciutto di Parma. Also saw the menu a section dedicated to a calzome sausage roll. That sounds like something...

I just moved to the area and I’m a New Yorker, so I love my pizza. I kept smelling this each time I drove by, so I decided one day to check it out. The place from where I seen looked decent, good ppl. Smelled amazing. I wait about 15-20min for an ex. Large. Which is not bad of a wait. Get home with excitement. A take a bite and at first it was good, up until I tasted the tomatoe sauce. Was confused for a sec so I tried it again, maybe it was just a bad spot. But nope i was right, the pizza sauce to me taste straight like Heinz tomato paste, like for real. I was so upset, all that waiting just to be disappointed with it. The rest of it was good, but I could not get past that pizza sauce. I know tomato paste when I taste it. I been a chef for a long time and that is exactly what it was. I mean at least have some type of other ingredients in it to mask that flavor. It’s just a me thing. Others may enjoy it. But me I’m a no go on it. Maybe I’ll try again and see if it was just a bad...

Challenged to stop at the next pizza place we saw, I ended up at A&S Pizza. Walking in, this place looks like every pizza place I've ever seen, the typical but colorful bench, the large sign showing their offerings that seems to be a product of more function then design. The staff was buzzing away on order after offer as they ran through the kitchen. I grabbed two plain slices, some of what was probably the last ones out on a Saturday night, and while they weren't life-changing, you can tell by the blend of herbs, cheese and crust they can make a solid pizza, one that would rock out the oven. That said service was good, was cash only (the sign at the register said "We accept cash", which maybe is just their way of saying it's preferred).
