HAMBLER’S TAQUERIA & PIZZERIA — Restaurant in Bristol

We have been twice in one week! We have ordered the Birria tacos, the smash burger, the chicken empanadas, tacos dorados, plantains con crema y queso, garlic parm wings, fluffy crunchy tacos, a side of fries and a chef salad (that isn’t on their paper menu but it is available on their online menu if you order pick up!) the last food item we got was the chicken Marsala and honestly.. it was so good!! I also am slightly obsessed with the Salvadorian lemonade. I ordered two the second time we came and my boyfriend accidentally spilled the entire thing on our rug when he walked in the door 😭 tragic. Anyway; this may be my new drink stop.

The only thing we didn’t love were the plantanos but honestly I let them sit too long in the Togo box by the time I got to them I don’t think it did them any justice. We decided we would like to eat inside one day so that we can have the food fresh right there but the only downfall is that it is very warm inside there. Dress with layers you can take off if you choose to wear layers. I do think the food quality is worth the few negatives I may have found, and as I mentioned.. it may not be an actual negative but just my particular experience with the take out. After two long years of searching, I finally found the place I’ve been looking for! I was in Meriden with a bunch of options, but now I’m in Bristol, and it seems like the food here isn’t quite what I was hoping for. I’ve been here for two years and have been on the hunt for that perfect pizza place or Mexican food spot, but nothing seemed to work out. Until now! I stumbled upon this place the other day and read some great reviews, so I had to check it out. And let me tell you, it was absolutely amazing! The pizza was just right - not too thin or too thick, and it had a great flavor and plenty of cheese. I’m really picky about cheese and crust, and this place totally hit the spot. The beef BIRRA freaking awesome. Crispy shell and the beef just had that Spanish flavor. Perfect. My wife and I were actually disappointed we didn’t have more. Super impressed. Its a nice change from the bland food we’ve been running into. The pizza was just perfect, and I’m definitely going to try other things on the menu. I’ve read other reviews that are not lying, and I can honestly say that I wanted to call the manager or owner just to tell them how impressed I was. Please keep up the great work! The pizza is great when it's done right (probably the best in the area), not so great when it's not. The first time we had a pizza here it was amazing. Crispy crust, no flop and the pizza was light without any excess saltiness. Price was great too. The next few times we had it though were a disappointment. It's like the cheese that's being used has a lot of extra moisture. It makes the cheese slide right off the pizza and it soaks through the crust making it wet. One time when we ordered and it turned out like this, but it was caught before we even took the pizza - they made a new one for us (took another 20 minutes), but unfortunately it turned out the same. They seem to have recently hired new employees, so that might be why the quality has dropped. I should also mention that they do give discounts for reviews at this place, so the high review score you see on Google also might not be 100% accurate. I'm really hoping Hambler's can fix the problems it has with it's pizza so they can come out consistent every time with no sogginess and make it so the cheese will stay on the pizza and not fall off when you try to pick up a piece.
