Taste Buds — Restaurant in Bristol

Wish you could put 0 stars. Normally I don’t like leaving bad reviews just because restaurants can have off days or be understaffed. However the staff was kind at first but then ignored us and only took one of our orders at a time which was way more time consuming vs. if she would of just took our order as a whole group. We have had boba teas at multiple locations in Asheville, Marion, and other places in South Carolina but THIS boba tea was most definitely expired. Or old or clearly not made right. I have never tried any boba as bad as the one the lady made. I’m sorry but I wouldn’t be surprised if others have gotten sick because of this. Do not get the boba. I highly recommend bubbly’s in Marion or even the spot in Asheville mall. If you are willing to make the drive but I promise it’s worth it! Also before we came we checked the reviews and besides the place being called “dirty” (which we see why) but all the boba reviews were clearly made by people who have never tried boba before. Although the one review comparing the boba to “dog water” was spot on! Sorry to say but it was really bad. We didn’t want to say anything and just paid for the 2 bobas the lady already made because well quite frankly the place was dead and we felt bad :( and we left. Another thing our friend had bought two of the bags of freeze dried candy and paid before we did for the boba but the lady who made our boba decided to run out and accuse her of not paying which is weird as why the other coworker wouldn’t tell her she already paid while watching her run out very unprofessional and I hope your employees can work together next time as we were kind of offended by her as she argued with us on if she had paid or not . 😂 overall trash place and we feel like we were catfished by reviews on the boba. The other food they have could possibly be good but we will not be risking it...

We came before the relocation and it was wonderful. But this visit was awful. We called in and when we got there we waited at the checkout counter for five minutes without being spoken to. On it’s on, this would have been okay. We had called 10 minutes before and we’re told it would have been done in 10 minutes. We got there and waited an extra 10 minutes, nearly making us late for an appointment. This also would have been fine on it’s own, but the next thing was the last straw. The woman who made our drinks wiped sweat off her forehead and then proceeded to put her hands all over our open straws. The straws, or at least ours, we’re not wrapped and were placed in by the worker herself. This seems very unheigenic. I’m not sure of the name of the woman who made our drinks. I sanitized my straw when I got in the car. The drinks were not very good. They taste like flavored water. We’ve met the owner before and she is incredibly sweet but this experience was not good. I used to recommend this place to everyone. I feel awful leaving this review but people need to know if they’re drinks are being grossly mishandled. Perhaps the food is better than the drinks? So heard about this place, this morning on 92.9 Super Talk w/Christy Slaughter show. And being the ice cream lover that I am. I looked them up online immediately !!! WOW what a vast assortment of ice cream flavors on the menu !!! So that did it for me, I was off to see and taste for myself first hand. As I walk in, my nose was filled with the smell of chocolaty goodness and sweet homemade per order waffle cones not premade waiting to be filled. So after the awesome Mom and daughter team running the place answered all my questions and helped me decide on a flavor. I was diving into a fresh made waffle cone packed with chocolate and peanut butter Thia rolled ice cream. Absolutely Heavenly ! Is the only way to describe it. Don't let the small location fool you, this place is like a secret room in Willie Wonka's chocolate factory. And these girl's know ice cream, like Santa knows toy's !!!
