We ate there today. When our hostess seated us, my mother in law asked were The rest room was and the hostess said, have a seat and I'll show you in a minute. First of all just point the woman in The the direction of The restroom. We drove over 45 minutes to get there. The food was great. Our server was wonderful. Although, we had an issue with what they call silent service. My mother in law was very upset by the end because 4 servers came by other than our original server and placed their hand on her plate and tried to take it away. We were just trying to relax and take our time enjoying our meal but, by all these other servers coming by and trying to silently take her food away. She and we felt rushed. Our original server was very prompt and we didn't need anyone else to help her out. She was perfectly on time and polite as well as informative about the menu. Having 4 others servers stopping by made our experience seem a little stressful. I understand that if they were extremely busy it's good for everyone to chip in and help but, they were not. We felt interrupted constantly and it wasn't relaxing. My mother in law asked to speak with the General Manager and she did come over and speak with us. She said, we train them to do silent service. In our eyes that ment taking our food away several times before we were finished eating. We felt it was extremely rude and instead of spending more time and money there we left. We would have more than likely bought desert and drinks if we had not felt so rushed. I realize my mother In law didn't leave a tip for our server. She was extremely upset. I'm sure the girl was wondering why she didn't get a tip. It was not her fault she was a great server. I can only hope the next time we drive 45 minutes to eat, if it is at this establishment we get the same server and I can give her...
Read moreI am normally a huge Charleston’s fan my family and I frequent the Peoria location. I was there today for a family members birthday and the food and service was good. My rating is so low because it took us over an hour to pay our bill and we were being very patient until bills were being mixed up, credit cards were being switched with bills, and then the party waiting on the area we were in came to inform us that we need to leave and how management handled it was not appropriate. Not sure who informed them we were in their way but we were waiting to pay. I had three bills given to me that were incorrect and waited a very long time for the final revision. So the wait was to resolve that and the many other billing problems. When a member of our party spoke to the persons standing at the door from the next party and closed the doors between us he informed management of the problem she then started defending them and suggested we wait at the front. Which is unacceptable. We were already and what would have happened if they assumed we were trying to leave without paying? We should not be asked to move until we have completed all of our business with the establishment. So when another person in their party suggested we needed to leave it made things even worse. I will not visit this location again. Managment allowed the next party to approach members in our party and that is very...
Read moreToday was my wife's Birthday and her elderly parents who both use walkers were going to join us. I called at noon to make a reservation and was told that they don't offer reservations for parties less than eight. I explained my situation and that we needed specific seating at a table because the parents couldn't slide into a booth. I was told that if we arrive before 5:30 pm it wouldn't be a problem. We arrived at 5:00 pm sharp and the waiting area was packed. I told the young lady that was hosting that we needed a table and she said it would be fine and that the wait would be a little longer, about 35 minutes. We said fine. After 35 minutes they tried to put us 5 of us into a booth. I explained the problem again and a manager came over and said that a table would not be available until 8:30 pm because the four open tables were for people with reservations. I told her we tried to make a reservation and again explained what we needed at the hostess stand. Why did they not tell us there were no tables, and made us wait for 40 minutes now. She was smarmy and said she would talk to someone and there was nothing she could do for us, Sorry. McGills had no problem seating us or taking our business. I will not frequent this location again, if I could they would have no stars. Totally unacceptable customer service...
