WOW! What a difference 3 years makes. Three years ago our first review was margaritas were tasty!!! Characters at the bar made the experience that much better. Laughing most of the time!!! But now this is the experience.
Three years and new management make one heck of a difference. When we first started going to Los Cabos, there was a great atmosphere, and the staff and bartenders were fantastic, making it a fun place to visit. My wife and I loved coming in and enjoying time with friends and the regulars at the patio bar, and even inside during the winter months. However, things changed as management began to shift. I believe her name is Kaylene, who came from the Owasso branch. You could sense the tension and animosity in the air. We observed her while on duty, mingling and flirting with some men at the outside bar, sitting on their laps and such. When she realized they had been charged for drinks or whatever, she became aggravated and reprimanded the bartenders, then jumped on the computer to adjust their bill. We thought her behavior was extremely unprofessional. We began to limit our visits as the atmosphere started to change. Staff began to change, and the new manager would strut around, making the staff uncomfortable, from a patron's point of view reading body language. We noticed the usual staff was being removed from their normal rotation, causing some of us regulars to question what was going on. Obviously, things had changed since Eric had moved on to another location. Things have progressively gotten worse. Different staff (bartenders) don't pay attention to patrons, make the wrong drinks, then give them to other people for free. It seems as if new management's favorites are put into place, and there is no care for the quality of service. At times it seemed overstaffed, employees were standing around as less patrons came in due to the changes. Tonight was the last straw. Upon sitting at the bar, Alex greeted my wife and asked what she wanted. She ordered the usual. Alex asked if she wanted a top shelf or house, stating that they put a certain tequila in the frozen margaritas. My wife replied, "the house is fine, just on the rocks, sugar rim." Alex brought back a frozen. When told she made a mistake and didn't listen to the request, she replied, "oh, I didn't know." She then turned and offered the drink to another woman at the bar, no charge. It's like watching "50 First Dates" with "10 Second Tom." After that, there was no more interaction. She went and took an order from a couple that sat after us, and at that time, we decided to just pay the bill and leave. This establishment has changed for the worse with this new leadership in place and the staff that has now been put in. With that said, we have spent our last time...
Read more02/22/22 dinner. Oh, oh my. It was bad. Only getting 2 stars because I feel slightly bad for the waitress, otherwise it would have been a 1 star review. A celebratory dinner gone wrong, everything went wrong. And I don’t think it was only our experience as we were conveniently seated to hear everyone’s exit dialogue, no one seemed pleased. We will not return.
As I rarely give such critical reviews I’ll break this one down. Environment: it was frigid in the restaurant. Everyone kept their coats on, including the employees. Waitstaff: on her second day on the floor our server seemed underprepared to take on a service role. 3 of 4 drinks we ordered were delivered as a different drink, all at different times, from moments after ordering to after entrees were delivered, and we were never asked if we needed another (on National Margarita Day of all days) and through the course of our 90 minute dinner we only received one round of waters. After 45 minutes and one basket of chips one of our guests walked to the kitchen in an attempt to get more chips for our shared 2 cups of salsa amongst 5 ladies. 2 of the 5 entrees were incorrectly ordered and delivered to the table, due to the frigid temperatures in the restaurant others couldn’t wait on the corrected entrees to be re-served as they knew theirs would go cold. Food: absolutely not worth the value! Not a single one in our party of 5 felt the price matched quantity, value, or presentation. I was shocked by the tiny portion for the pricing on the combo fajitas and what appears to be re-used vegetables? (See photo). The guest asked the waitress about the issue but no remedy was offered, the guest did not eat and paid for the meal. The guacamole appetizer is a joke, do not recommend, three tiny scoops of tasteless mush on a massive bed of lettuce. Avocados are an issue, just take it off the menu and stop embarrassing yourself. It was that bad!!! Management: this is what really makes me want to give our experience 1 star. The manager saw and heard everything going down at our table, again with the convenient table placement, and never once addressed our table or assisted the server they were obviously watching fail. The guest with the fajita fail asked to speak to the manager, they never came to the table. A few good things: the queso was great and the only thing we thought was worth the price, however it went cold QUICK. Did I mention we were eating in an igloo? Once we received the Barrel Paloma it was delicious. We enjoyed the salsa, beware of you’re not a cilantro fan, it’s very...
Read moreWe usually eat lunch later in the day, but after voting on Tuesday, my husband wanted to have an early lunch. Very glad we did (around 11:00 - 11:20 am). The Hostess started to seat us at a table before you get to the covered patio, which we've sat there before and Very Uncomfortable so I asked if we could have a booth - which happened to be a great request. Our Server Made My Day (we are a bit older - in our 70's, but everyone tells us we sure don't look like it - I'll take that because I have had diabetes, heart and anemia issues since childhood and don't always feel so great, so being told we look good is a plus. Today was one of those days, I didn't feel especially great). She told us her name, which I didn't catch, but I believe it started with a K. I could not catch a glimpse of her name tag as well, unfortunate (we paid cash and did not keep a copy of the receipt, which I regret). She was FANTASTIC, UPBEAT/FUN, HAD THE BEST SMILE AND MADE US FEEL LIKE HOME. We don't get that so much anymore dining out anywhere at local restaurants. I learned a long time ago in my career (and I have worked a grill/fast food and office) that even if you don't like your job or don't feel up to snuff - Smile and make the customer feel and know that they matter/important). So, today for a very long time, Our Server did just that. My lunch tasted better because of Her and even though Los Cabos needs to get better chairs at their tables and seats in their booths (so Very Uncomfortable, and the reason I gave the atmosphere 3 Stars) I didn't mind today. I can't thank our Server enough, or let Los Cabos know how WE APPRECIATED HER - AND THAT THEY NEED TOO AS WELL. An Update: Had to go to the eye doctor today, so I needed some comfort food and Yes - I now know who my Favorite Person/Server is: LAUREN (hmm - doesn't start with a "K". My Bad). Again, she made my day (going to the doctor even as an adult isn't always fun). BEAUTIFUL, BEAUTIFUL SMILE and GREAT ATTITUDE. So, if you aren't having a great day (or even if you are) - Have some comfort food WITH A GREAT SMILE and ask for Lauren. She does make...
