My family have been loyal customers of Malleys for over 20 years because of the wonderful products they offer. I purchase chocolates every Christmas and Easter for several relatives. However, due to the recent security breach and Malleys response I would caution anyone making a purchase other than by using cash to BEWARE! I received a letter from Malleys stating my credit card information had been compromised. Sure enough there were two fraudulent charges on my American Express card just after Easter when I had placed several orders. Malleys response was to reference me to a third party who could tell me what to do if my identity had been stolen. A LITTLE LATE FOR THAT AND COMPLETELY INEFFECTIVE! Every other breach where our information had been exposed ie., Target, Equifax, offered a year of credit monitoring. Malleys offered NOTHING. I called and spoke to Mike Malley. I explained that I had obtained the information on the two fraudulent charges and had filed a police report. I had faxed this information to Malleys to try to help them with their investigation. I also told Mike that the exact same thing had happened two weeks after I placed orders for chocolates at Christmas and that it might be a coincidence or perhaps the security breach had occurred earlier than they thought. Ā Ā Ā Read moreI have been a diehard Malley's fan for years and always make sure I stop by whenever I am home. Lately the customer service seems to be dwindling. First they get rid of the frequent customer card, then I experience the lack of customer service with their call-in center and the limited functionality of the website.
I am out of state and require the cold packs to be added to be sure the chocolate makes it in one piece. However, there is no option to add this on the website and the $18 shipping charge they list does not state if it includes this or not. As expensive as their chocolate is, I don't want it ruined before it even gets here!
Second, I attempted to call the center, which was reported to open at 08:30 AM Eastern to place an expedited order (since this option could also not be selected on the site) and despite being the first (and apparently ONLY) caller in queue, I got thrown to voicemail where even after 90 minutes after leaving a message as instructed, I still did not get a call back.
Tried again to call at 09:30 - A FULL HOUR AFTER THEY REPORTEDLY OPENED - and there is STILL no one answering the phones in the call center (again being the first and only person in queue).
So disappointed in Malley's. I don't think this is the legacy Mr. Malley would have wanted for...

Nanas favorite was the Marshmellow, Nut & Chocolate Sheet which fills their box. DELICIOUS !! I canāt trust myself with this !! For Valentines Day I ordered 2 boxes of the creamy carmels, some raspberry hearts and peanut butter hearts. My husband and I relish each bite and are trying to make these last till we order again around Easter. (LOL !!) THEIR CHOCOLATE IS AMAZING !! DELICIOUS CREAMY CHOCOLATE WHICH REMINDS ME OF THE SWITZERLAND CHOCOLATES. Packed and shipped well & arrived perfect. WE ARE PLANNING ON BEING CUSTOMERS FOR A LONG TIME !!
