Tequila Jalisco Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Brookfield

I travel a lot and I thought I would give this restaurant one more chance to have seasoned and something other than ordinary Mexican food. It was Taco Tuesday and I thought at just a dollar a taco I couldn't be too disappointed. I was wrong. I had two chicken soft tacos and two beef crunchy tacos. The chicken was dry and completely unseasoned. A liquid ran out into my plate and I knew it couldn't be from lettuce because there was hardly any. I doused the chicken with salsa and ate it with a fork rather than eating the liquid soaked large tortilla. The beef and the crunchy tacos was equally glad without any effort of seasoning. I know this place must have a loyal Brookfield and surrounding countryside following, but believe me, it's not due to the taste of the food. I believe it is all they have. Service, other than bringing food to the table, was non-existent. Typical of many Mexican restaurants, you will get your food and then maybe you won't have to go looking for the check. My check was brought to the table. Not even at the cash register was I asked whether or not my food or my visit was okay. The person ringing me out talk to what look like could be the manager the whole time and I wasn't even acknowledged. This restaurant will not survive a critical review. It has to be local loyalists that are keeping its doors open. My last review, describe my food having so little pork in it, and paying nearly $11 was an equally huge disappointment. Past history this place “was” amazing. Now terrible!! Prices outrageous. The taco salad one of my guests ordered was so small we thought it was a joke. Literally two inches tall and circumference was the side of a saucer.when we asked our server if it was a joke she said”no” but we could buy another meal if that didn’t satisfy. The cost of this tiny taco salad was a whopping$ 8.50. We ordered two michiladas. Which is a tomato beer. When brought to the table they weren’t even full. Probably only a little over half full. I ordered the shrimp tacos, and they were fabulous. A bit spicy but I loved em. My wife had the chicken taco salad. She loved it. Loads of chicken in her tortilla bowl. The veggies were fresh and delicious. We have had some of the best Mexican food in the west. (California, Nevada, Arizona). Mexican food in central USA hasn't always been good. THIS WAS by far and away one of the BEST FOOD I've ever tasted. The service was amazing. We had chips and salsa as we were sitting down. Food was served quickly.
