Good Food/Poor Service. I wish more restaurants understood the value of people’s time and why busy people prefer to order online. This place DOES NOT get it.
This was my first experience with Humus Republic. I placed on order at 1:10 PM with a promise time of 1:25 PM. Great, I can be back at my desk for my 2:00 PM meeting – WRONG! At 1:25, I received a text stating my order was ready. I race to the restaurant and patiently wait in-line for my order. At 1:40 PM, I learned that my order hadn’t even been started yet. “Why did I get a text?”, I asked. “It’s automatic”, was the reply. In other words, it was a lie.
The restaurant was not very busy. When I entered, there was one person at the register ahead of me and another eating at a table. There were three staff people behind the counter. One was an older man who I assume was either the owner or manager. “We’re short staffed.” Nah! He was indifferent and offered no amends and not even a sincere apology. Needless to say, I was late for my meeting.
Food wise, I will admit, my lunch was delicious. When time is not a factor for me (which is almost never), I may even try this place again, but never when I’m in a hurry. I don’t mind tipping for good services, but incidents like this are why I don’t like “pre-tipping” for online orders.
Ordinarily, I would not bother to write a review after a single incident, but the indifference of the owner/manager was enough to make me want to share my experience. Humus Republic needs...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Hummus Republic, I ordered a bowl with a fantastic combination of flavors that left me completely satisfied.
I chose a base of chickpeas, spinach, and kale, which created a vibrant and nutritious foundation. The kalamata olive hummus and roasted eggplant hummus were both exceptional—rich, creamy, and bursting with flavor. I also appreciated that everything was vegan!
The falafel was perfect, adding a wonderful texture and taste to the bowl. The fresh toppings, including chopped cucumbers, red onions, tomatoes, artichoke hearts, banana peppers, beets, and chickpea croutons, elevated the dish even further. Each bite was a delightful mix of flavors and crunch.
To top it all off, the drizzle of traditional tahini and lemon & olive oil dressing was the perfect finishing touch, enhancing the overall experience without overpowering the other ingredients.
The service was friendly and attentive, and I loved that I could customize my order to my liking.
Overall, Hummus Republic exceeded my expectations, and I can’t wait to return for another delicious meal. If you’re looking for fresh, flavorful, and satisfying Mediterranean food, I highly recommend giving them a visit!
Thank you, Hummus Republic, for a fantastic dining...
Read moreAfter reading lots of great reviews and having high expectations, I was extremely disappointed. Everything LOOKS good and SOUNDS good but is super bland. In the pictures online, everything looks brown and roasty with lots of seasoning but that's not the case. The vegan beef and the mushroom shawarma were both pale and flavorless. The falafel is dry. The couscous and tabouli tasted like nothing. I got a bowl with half couscous, half chickpeas, half mushrooms, half vegan beef, all the toppings (except tzatziki or feta), and garlic jalapeno and hot sauce for dressing. The ONLY taste in the entire bowl was the fried jalapeno and the roasted garlic cloves. The sauces are all EXTREMELY watery and had zero taste. I had gotten mine to go so I just came home and made tahini. Actually, the reason we went was to get a tahini milkshake - which is also watery. We thought maybe there was an issue with the milkshake machine but when we asked we were told it was supposed to be like that and not thick. It did taste good but it's tahini chocolate milk, NOT a milkshake. Overall, I appreciate the menu being primarily vegan and organic but sadly, the food just isn't good. Hopefully, it was just a bad day and isn't normally like that but I doubt...
