Wow! This place is so awesome! Firstly, you can smell the fresh, delicious waffle cones before you even walk in. The front of the shop is a large garage door which they keep open on nice weather days and it's so easy to walk inside from the Georgia heat and get some Custard. The decor is modern wth a country twist and incredibly sleek. Make sure to check out the ceiling. Everyday the flavors are chocolate, vanilla, and a flavor of the day. The custard has less air than traditional ice cream so it's super dense and creamy. So far the flavors of the day that I've tried such as Birthday Cake, Coffee, Strawberry, and Cookies and Cream have all been delicious! They also do things like Concretes and espresso concoctions. The service from Eric and Heather was the best and I'll definitely be going back.

They make their own waffle bowls and cones, which are my absolute favorite. They also have Poffertjes, which are small Dutch pancakes with Custard. They are delicious if you want to try something a little different. Friendly staff, but it can get quite busy sometimes so plan accordingly.

They also have past daily flavors available in to-go portions, so you can always have some in stock at home. You can also call ahead and ask them to save some for you. My favorite is Mint Oreo. These pictures were taken the same month my Son was born. Every time we go, we take pictures of him on the blue bench inside. Southern Custard is one of our absolute favorite places in Atlanta, and I hope it becomes one of yours as well.

When we first got there we didn’t realize that this place only had vanilla and chocolate and the flavor of the day and that originally made us feel nervous since we’re used to the spectacle that is an ice cream shop with many different flavors.

HOWEVER, the sample of the chocolate and the flavor of the day…..my goodness what a treat. The custard was incredibly creamy! We’ve already made plans to go back and try other flavors. Nutella cheesecake we’re waiting for you.
