Cons: 1: The kids playground has no shade. Which is unacceptable in Georgia. It gets literally blistering hot. My daughter burned her arm by briefly touching a metal fastening on the climbing structure. It would be such an easy fix. Just throw up some shade sales on the already existing climbing structures and voila, no more blisters. 2) The rocks in the kids playground are a little dangerous, I've seen a few kids fall and hit their heads. Luckily not too hard, but it's asking for a lawsuit. 3: No fenced in dog park area, even though they have plenty of space for it. So people let their dogs off leash to run around.
Pros:
I used to frequent this park when my daughter was younger because she was in the Girls on the Run program. So it's been several yrs since I've been. I must say they have done an amazing job of adding on to this park! They have more playgrounds (updated the old as well). They've added restrooms as well as more paved walking paths. There's a lot of tree coverage as well, so that's helpful in this heat!! They seem to have added more tennis courts and soccer fields. There's a great number of hills! I really enjoyed walking this park today! I really this is a 4.5. I only take a .5 off because I always wish there were more signs and/or marked paths so you know which way to go...
Read moreI really like this park. A little over a mile walking trail which is beautiful. You feel like you're in the woods. Tennis courts, and baseball fields. We came a lot over the summer. The only thing I can complain about is that the large playground is not covered. So when it's hot it's really hot. I know most playgrounds are not covered. However, even a light covering would be nice because everything gets so hot. You can't touch it. But it won't stop us from going. I'll take my youngest to the small playground which is covered by the trees shade if you get there before 12p.Overall, it's absolutely beautiful, great for adults, kids...
