I recently visited a charming little neighborhood sushi bar that I’d been eyeing for a while, especially since I was craving a hot sake on a rainy day. This place turned out to be a delightful find!
The restaurant is small and intimate, with just a handful of tables. I was fortunate to snag the last available table, as the place was quite busy. Despite there being only one person working the floor, I was greeted promptly and served efficiently. My initial concern about slow service was quickly put to rest as my hot sake and appetizers arrived in no time.
I tried the tuna tataki, which had a stronger pepper flavor than what I’m accustomed to, but it was an interesting twist. I also ordered a couple of rolls and a sashimi appetizer, which were both delicious. The rolls came with a fresh salad, and to my surprise, the chef (who I suspect is also the owner) sent out a complimentary crab salad with chips. This thoughtful gesture really added to the warm, personal touch of the experience.
The cozy atmosphere made it a perfect spot to enjoy a meal on a rainy day. I’ll definitely be returning here the next time the weather calls for comfort food. Highly recommend for anyone in the area looking for a friendly, intimate dining experience with...
Read moreNeat fancy secret sushi hibachi bar A restaurant food broker friend told me that this is the best deal in Atlanta for the highest quality of sushi at the best price. He should know because that's all he does all day and his other pics are totally awesome. He said the fish is flown in like nakatos sushi bar which is one of the best in Atlanta but most expensive. He said they also use real type of fish (dont lie like some others)Japanese rice which is 4 times as expensive as all the other sushi bars in Atlanta. but don't tell anyone or they will start getting too packed and raise their prices! I've been to Japan so I know sushi and to check the chef and they got many awards. Their service and bar is totally awesome and sometimes they throw in free sample. Bento box and sushi deluxe is best deal ever. It's funny because even friends who hate eating cooked fish will eat a few pieces of the sushi here and love it. Steak hibachi is perfect too. I always have to ask for more ginger though but I guess that's just like other sushi bars. I can also tell its the real deal because Japanese business men are...
Read moreI tried this place tonight and I am so sad to say how disappointed I am. I order the an appetizer of calamari tempura then the samshi regular dinner $34.95 and two rolls (Sunday morning $13.95 and California tempura $9.95). I must give credit to the sushi chef because the food was not the issue but it was the servers. I mean I ordered the appetizer to eat before my entree not to have it come after my meal! When the calamari came out (about 10minutes AFTER my entree I packed all everything in a box and left. Overall I paid a about $74 for the food plus $10 gratuity (because I felt the service did not deserve 20%) and additional $5 directly to the sushi chef at the bar because from my experience the sushi bar food was good but the service needs to improve drastically. I more than likely consider TOGO next time. Hope that this...
