I was searching for a spot to stop on the way home, and came across China Hope. It was like divine intervention that I found them because they have CANTONESE LO MEIN. I have been searching for YEARS since North China on White Bear Ave closed for this kind of lo mein, everyone wants to make those thick gross noodles. These people though? They did it right, they went Cantonese and I love them for it.
Aside from my Cantonese lo mein dreams coming true at last, this place was very clean inside, the young person at the counter was very kind, helpful, attentive and efficient. I ordered online and that was also very easy to do. It said 20 minutes until it was ready which I found surprisingly because most places lately are 40+, but sure enough it was ready in 20!
The food itself was also very tasty. Everything was still hot after my 20 minutes drive home. We have tried so many shrimp fried rices around the cities, and this one contends with our one and only other favorite. I love how they make their cheese wontons into triangles instead of the usual pouch. They were still crispy when I got home, and the filling was perfect and sweet. The sweet and sour chicken was good, the beef and broccoli was good, the orange chicken was amazing- definitely going to be a new staple, and the lo mein. Oh man the lo mein. Thank you, thank you, thank you for having Cantonese lo mein.
This is our new spot. We have been searching for the best place for years, and we finally found it.
Thank...

The staff are pleasant and present a courtesy to customers sometimes lost in most high volume and high trafficked Chinese Food restaurants. Bring your manners along with your hunger, which will cost you less than you think. Serving portions are amenable and priced to impress. Enjoy your visits, as I have on multiple occasions, and eat happy knowing you've found a...
Read moreI've been trying to find a decent Chinese Take Out place for the last 5 years since my old one left. I finally found this place about 5 miles from home. The Chow Mein was a tad different from my previous favorite place but in a comforting way. A slightly different sauce/gravy. Pleasantly spicy and I'm a frequent Asian traveler (Taiwan, Korea, Japan). In my first trip to Taiwan my handler brought me to a small family place and told me to forget all my US thoughts on Chinese food. He was right!!! It's totally amazing and different from all the areas just like our food. I also liked the Egg Foo. Again, different from other places they basically made an Egg Foo then covered it with the gravy and meat selection you chose. I dang well thought it was pretty tasty and the meat was perfect. There was a long line at this humble place but I think I...
