No. 1 Kitchen — Restaurant in Brooklyn

For years I have been getting my Chinese takeout every weekend at their competitor across the street. Due to COVID-19 the ONLY option for Chinese was No 1 Chinese and I figured I would give it a try. I always figured the competition was better because they were always so busy and it wasn't just a hole-in-the-wall like No 1 Chinese. I was so wrong!

Not only is the price so much better, but the food is some of the best Chinese I have had in years (and I am not just saying that because COVID made me forget). The owners are working so incredibly hard to get food out to people and are following proper safety protocol to keep things sanitary.

I will say that people need to show a little more respect. Follow their signs and don't waste their time or the time of every other customer by thinking you are so special you don't have to follow the rules. Oh, and don't try calling in your order because they are not answering phones. Simply go to their website and make it easy for everyone and order online. If you wait to go in to place your order you will be given a menu to circle what you want and then you will be waiting a very long time.

The worst food i have ever tasted. I have never done this before , but someone ( hopefully not me) is going to get sick.

Tonight for the first and last time I tried #1 Chinese Restaurant in Brooklyn, CT I knew something was off when I got back into the car. The smell was like cooked dumpster. I tried the veggie fried rice. That is were the dumpster smell came from . I had one tablespoonful. The broccoli looked off , the whole dish smelled like cooked dumpster. I suspect the oil was rancid and so were the veggies. The rest of the food is now in my dumpster.

Really bummed, I’ve been craving Chinese for MONTHS .. was super excited to get it but it ended up being some of the worst Chinese I’ve ever had. The rice, teriyaki chicken , boneless ribs etc literally had NO FLAVOR except for a bit of saltiness. The only thing I kinda like was the chicken fingers.
