Pop's Pitt Bar BQ — Restaurant in Brookshire

I am not now nor have I EVERRRRRRRR been a big fan of BBQ. In fact one could say I actively AVOID it when possible, BUT let me tell you this here!!! Whoever made this BBQ baked potato with the tenderest of brisket laid cross the top of it - baby they don’t owe me #NOTHING! They have done all that was predestined for them to do for the year 2021! I send them on with a blessing to extend out into the 4th and 5th generations of their kids!! I don’t know why they made this potato so good like this. Got me at work eating like a ravenous Shetland Pony! You folks that only eat at places inside loop 610 are missing out! Y’all better venture out into the country towns! The lady up front was super friendly too. I got the stuffed potato for myself and the other super loaded one for a coworker and she loved...

This was an average outdoor/patio service establishment. Some authentic elements provide charm but lots more seems like cheap embellishments that takes away from the authenticity.

On the food: the chicken was flavorless, the sausage was boiled(?), and the brisket was definitely made in a crock pot or steamed/boiled. This was one of the strangest brisket I've ever had. And it's hard to mess up brisket if you smoke it. The texture was rubbery. The color was grey. The smoke rings were entirely absent. And the price was above average for a subpar experience. I know you can't taste a picture but here's my order of brisket. You can see it's just weird...
