First time in awhile. Sat in bar, arrived about 1120. Greeted promptly. Didn't catch or know bartenders name. I asked what kind of fish was on rhe sandwich or fish and chips. She didnt know other than the north atlantic whitefish; of which there are many. She said she could go back to ask the kitchen if i wanted. I guess it wasnt an implied request or thought process. She returned in a few minutes and from afar, told me it was hake; sometimes used by the English for fish and chips. I ordered the sandwich; served with lettuce, a generic tartar sauce that lacked flavor and fresh fries. Bartender seemed more intersted in talking with her purveyors or regulars; than asking me how my sandwich was; or if there was anything else i needed. Brought me my check; i paid and left without a thank you or hope to see you again. These issues of lack of service seemed to be a training issue or must not be s.o.p.. I felt like i wasnt wanted. I'm a conversational person when it comes to co- service people but wasnt given the time of day or chance to engage. I guess it was up to me to try to start a conversation. As they say; good service gets you a good tip, i hope she enjoyed...
Read moreBad day for server or maybe every day. . .? She started out unhappy/ rude as I didn't make reservations when I said there will be 8 people. I smiled & said I know but we are meeting for lunch & coming from southern indy all the way to Northern Indy- aunts, cousins & nieces thought we would pop into this restaurant. We were the first customers & place was empty. When asked if we could order 2 meals before everyone showed due to child being autistic & may not be able to stay long. We were told NO, due to kitchen preferring all orders placed together. We commented you cant make an exception for a special needs child? WOW We went to barside & ordered 2 meals from them- same kitchen. When asked for to go cup we were told no, didn't have any, except kiddie cups & that wasn't worth the effort. We ended up being a party of 12 due to several family stopping by. I think the bill alone was worth the effort to purchase your store some to go cups. Wouldn't go back to eat at your restaurant- too many choices in the world or even just Brownsburg to have such a terrible...
Read moreHow in the heck did we miss this place so far??? We found a new favorite in Brownsburg after almost two years of living here. Prime rib with garlic mashed potatoes, fried clam strips, and fried shrimp, fries and cole slaw. Fantastic portions, good pricing and the quality of the food was beyond what we expected when we walked in. Hell, it ranks high even for "fancy" restaurants. Seeing previous reviews on Google made it look like a small hometown bar feel, which was going to be fine. When they led us to one of the back rooms to sit though, we were really surprised at the size of the place and pretty much everything else about it. We had fantastic service, even in the middle of them getting set up for a group of 20+ near us. The waiter didn't miss a beat and made sure we were well taken care of. If you have been there and haven't been recently, go back. If you've never been, you're really...
