Ocean Buffet — Restaurant in Brownsville

This place is beyond ridiculous. I don't understand any positive reviews here because what my family and I experienced was outrageous. First impression walking in, seemed to be clean, so we decided to go ahead. The bill was insane but we still had hope for a decent meal. Browsing around the buffet I immediately felt like we had made a huge mistake. Food looked unappetizing, sad and disgusting. All I had on my plate was some mushrooms, a tiny portion of noodles and some orange chicken. The chicken had a weird texture with a buffalo sauce flavor mixed with orange sauce. My son had some nuggets that seemed to be reheated over a million times and were a dark grey color. My other son had shrimp that had the shell on and then fried!? We sat at the table for a few minutes but the look on my family's face was like I've never seen. I have never walked out of a restaurant before, this was a first. This place is absolutely ridiculous! As I peruse at the options I find that the shrimp (what I was originally getting) was breaded WITH THE SHELL ON? I’m sorry but you’d have to have some sort of culinary lobotomy to think that’s remotely ok! I consumed a piece of the shell because with the way the chef cooked it, I had no way of easily taking it off LIKE I SHOULD HAVE. My brother had “chicken nuggets” which tasted like sawdust, looked like a crouton, and was probably microwaved a lot to make it still “edible?” My other brother had some cold and hot fish which doesn’t make sense to me, my sister had buffalo sauce covered orange chicken, I had a HARD BAKED POTATO, and they ended taking $120 FROM US! All of this was 20 bucks per person for 6 PEOPLE? THAT IS IDIOTICALLY OUTRAGEOUS! I hope this helps others and directs people to somewhere else. NEVER GO HERE, DO NOT SUPPORT THEM, JUST WALK...

Will not be back. It is overpriced for low quality buffet food. The Mongolian stir fry noodles (yellow) were dry and old. Waited 5 minutes for someone to come out. When someone did, they wouldn't even look at us. Even rang the bell bc he didn't acknowledge our presence, which made him cranky. We had to go back up to the roster to get Topa Chicas bc the server couldn't bring it to us and didn't even open it or offer a bottle opener. Had to use a spoon to open it. The girls bathroom was disgusting. The sinks hadn't been cleaned in quite a while, which makes you wonder how clean they keep the kitchen. To top that off, they had gnats buzzing around. I'll take my chances elsewhere. That's a future lawsuit...
