Los Gallos Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Brownsville

The food is still good but what a pathetic fall from grace. The original restaurant, with its cozy, homey vibe and relaxing water view, served the best carne guisada in the county. Now? It’s banished to a soulless strip mall, wedged next to a reeking nail salon whose toxic fumes ruin every bite. The charm’s gone, replaced by a cheap, tacky atmosphere that insults its former glory. There’s a faint hope,the old waterfront spot is up for rent on Facebook Marketplace…..but this current setup...

UPDATE : THEY MOVED NEXT TO A NAIL SHOP. The smell of nail product RUINED IT. Can’t take a bite without that nasty smell. My family is very sad. We won’t be going back anymore. - The fideo tasted exactly like my grandmothers , she was a cook at one of these small cozy restaurants so it was such a comfort tasting it again , tortillas and guisado were banging. Chose one of the 3 breakfast specials priced at $4.99, which was papa con huevo (includes refried beans, coffee and a very large tortilla.
