C&J Barbeque — Restaurant in Bryan

Being from Stillwater and not having been to a C&J Barbeque, I find nothing wrong here. In fact, I liked everything about my stop here as I was passing through. The staff are focused on serving. That made all the difference. You know, lots of 'yes sir' 'no sir' and 'yes ma'am' 'no ma'am'. This is a very clean restaurant, especially the men's bathroom. I say that because as I've heard it said, "If the bathroom is not clean, then reconsider eating there." You're safe here. At least seven large TV's. It's an open dining area with two side rooms that seat 25-30 in each, which can be closed off. There is an additional dining area separated from the main dining area with two overhead garage style doors. Very neat. The atmosphere is spot on! As for the meat, I had ribs, sliced brisket and one-half chicken. Extremely good. If you smoke your chicken and it's moist, you're doing it right. The brisket and ribs were likewise moist. Nothing was dry or old. No leftovers. You can trust this meat. I also had pinto beans and fried okra. Most fried okra tastes the same. Not this fried okra. It had a unique taste that was very good. I'm a bean eater and these were flavored very well. It appears like they cater and they have a drive thru. You won't be disappointed here. Barbecue can vary greatly. You never know how good a barbeque you're gonna get. As usual, you can count on Texas barbeque. That may be the main reason God...

Attended another retirement luncheon at C&J's.

Love that they have variable sized party rooms for any size group. The meal was served buffet style in our party room. We had chicken, ribs, brisket, sausage, potato salad, beans, loaded potatoes, pickles, onions, peppers, banana pudding, peach cobbler, bread and tea. I smiled it all and it was delicious!

They are easy to work with and do a great job. Great place for an event.

They also have counter service where you can order what ever you'd like.

Joined a group for a retirement party of 27 or so people on a Wednesday at 11:30 at the new location. What a nice facility.

We were in one of the small rooms which was a tiny bit crowded. We shared a party pack of brisket and smoked turkey, potatoes, green beans, cobbler and all the trimmings. It was all yummy but the peach cobbler was amazing!

The staff was friendly and attentive.

We had driven by this business many times. We finally decided to try it. We were greeted as we walked in the door. We ordered our food and sat down to eat. My wife's chopped beef sandwhich was huge. I ordered the baked potato with chopped beef. I do not know why I ordered this. I have never received a fluffy baked potato at a bar b que restaurant. I guess they get hard and gummy setting in the warming tray and wrapped in foil. This is not just this restaurant. It seems to be all bar b que restaurants. If someone finds a bar b que restaurant with fluffy baked potatoes, please let me know. I love them with chopped beef. We also love banana pudding. We read that they have the best. Not so much. We have had much better. Sorry. As usual, you can expect the meal to be expected. Bar b que (restaurants as a whole) has gotten so expensive since the pandemic. This restaurant is what we consider as average....
